2016-2017 Depth Chart IMO

Jamie Gordinier is a player to watch out for. Love his motor and aggressive play. I really believe he's going to catch Diaz eyes with the passion he plays with.

Oh No rok!
If thats our starting OL Im going to have serious concerns about our OL depth. I want St.Louis and Milo to push Sunny, KC and Darling.
Gall is a MTA turnstile at G..I hope Gauthier, Jones and Mahoney push Isidora for PT as well.

We need our 2015 OL class to developed and contribute in 2016 and beyond.

I can see Richt having Yearby and Walton in the backfield together and often
I think Njoku starts at TE

I need to get around to defense on Richt recruiting, but the biggest DE Richt signed was 275, and he was a Juco. Most were 230-240.

The 3-techs he signed were all 260-280. Martin will be a DT and McIntosh most likely will be a SDE on some downs and a 3-tech on others.

Diaz needs his d-line to go three deep, so expect to play 10 DL this year. Mizzou did the same things, so him and Coach Kool are on the same page.

I've been watching FSU games from Richt's days there and I wouldn't be surprised if Walton and Yearby or Gus are on the field together a ton. He loves split backs out of the shotgun and likes for one to be a receiving threat and one to be good at blitz pickups.

Based on what?
Was DI an All ACC selection?

The entire OL struggled in 2015 and NO ONE should feel their a lock to start with a new coaching staff at this point.

Lewis starts at WR because of his blocking ability, experience, sure hands.
Dobard starts at TE for his blocking. Njoku will be flexed out wide exclusively and basically used as a WR. Every play he made in 2015 he was lined up out wide. He'll still practice as a TE.
Gall starts at LG because Odogwu is coming off knee surgery and will miss the spring. Searels coaches up McDermott who will lose weight and become more agile at RT.

I would expect yearby to be used like Michel was before Chubb got hurt this year. That being yearby being all over the field in the slot and also lined up in the backfield with either Walton or Gus. I think that yearby is so valuable as a pass catcher and we already have Gus and Walton that can be the primary back that yearby will be in the slot a lot. Also look at how Tennessee uses Alvin kamara that's how yearby needs to be utilized in my opinion.

Im going out on a limb and saying that gus and yearby will be 1a and 1b in that order. Gus is too big and fast to keep off the field and with richt calling the plays i see Gus coming off a injury year hungry and earning himself some money.

agree! he is already supposedly making a name for himself in mat drills.

This is a depth chart thread ... So, I'm going beyond the 1st string for this post.

... Why do people think Shirreffs will play over Vinny, Jr.?

I know everyone isn't saying it, but some people think Shirreffs is some diamond in the rough that is going to become the next Paxton Lynch. Where did this myth come from, and how has it continued to grow?

IMO, Shirreffs will never play a meaningful down at QB for Miami. Kid may be smart, and be an asset in the QB room ... But he's not a player CMR is going to ever rely on. CMR had the chance to recruit the kid, and decided against it. And judging from UGA's QB situation last season, they needed all the help they could get at that position.

If we' get beyond Rosier playing QB, I think it will be Vinny who gets the snaps. He's, at least, had game action at Texas Tech.

To be honest with you , i hope it does NOT ever come to that, now a blow out game is one thing letting Vinny and Shirreffs get some Pt as well as Jack. But if Im those two,I'd be concerned about Jack passing them by on the depth chart.

With Coley making the right decision to come back and the addition of the freshmen and JUCO WRS the passing offense has the potential to be really, really good.

What a difference a couple months make. An area of concern is a potential strength.
