The season hasn't even started yet and you negative ****ers are still yapping! shut the **** up.
It'll be Kayaa's Sophomore season another good recruiting class. Pair of great running backs coming in, great receiving core. Stable OL. Only problem is our shaky defense scheme. Just go to the games and support The U.
Had there been ANY significant changes or upgrades to the staff/program, there may exist the tiniest bit of hope or positive vibe going into a new season. However, we lose 4-5 of the biggest contributors , no coaching changes, no indications of changing schemes, etc... Great receiving corps - losing Walford, Dorsett, and Duke (biggest contributors). Great pair of high school running backs coming in - have they signed yet, are they on campus? Great in high school, right? Defense - "shakey" is a kind way of putting it, but they weren't the only issue. Offense shares a lot of blame. 23 points against usc's 90th ranked defense, 3rd down conversions were awful. Special teams kickoffs giving the opponent an average starting position on the 40. In short, we can go on and on and on about the deficiencies that were not addressed this off-season.
I would hesitate to associate the positives you listed with the word "great". Instead, "hope" is more appropriate. Kaaya is a sophomore, true. How did Coley's sophomore season turn out? Totally different positions, sure. But we thought Coley was going to be an AA this past year... Good recruiting class - debatable and unproven. I'm just ****ing myself off trying to be positive going into this season...
Since there were no appreciable changes to how things are going to be run (based on current indications) I am forced to form my opinion and outlook of the upcoming season based on past transgressions. That, IMO, is why there is little "hope".
Oh, did I mention we were 6-7 last year?
