After winning the fastest man competition at Al Golden Football Camp on Saturday, 2015 Miami Norland (Fla.) cornerback Antonio Howard was offered by the Miami Hurricanes.
"After winning the fastest man race, coach (Hurlie) Brown told me that they wanted to offer me. I wasn't surprised because I had been talking to coach Brown for a while," said Howard.
Howard, who is currently verbally committed to Cincinnati, ran a 4.35 40-yard dash to win the race.
During spring practices, a slew of Division-I schools came calling for the often overlooked star. Syracuse, Penn State, and Clemson all offered Howard during spring.
"I would say I am about 80% committed to Cincinnati," said Howard.
So do the 'Canes have anything that might appeal to Howard that another school cannot offer?
"I've always liked UM since I was little. Mainly because of Sean Taylor and how he was such a great player. He's the reason why I play defense," said Howard.
*Howard is currently 5-foot-11, 174-pounds
