With the sanctions finally coming down, we now know that we will only serve a 3 scholarship reduction. This means we will only be able to have 82 scholarship players on the team. There are currently 56 scholarship players eligible to return for the 2014 season. If all 56 return this staff will be able to bring in 26 players, with 25 already committed I just can't see only 1 more kid in this class. With that being said who do you think is shown the door and what position do you think the staff will be ok with being short handed?

My guess on who will be shown the door.
WR D'Mauri Jones
OG Hunter Wells
DT Corey King
DE David Perry

My guess on current commits who will not be in this class
QB Malik Rosier (With limited numbers I can't see this team carrying 5 scholarship QB's)
CB Dennis Turner (We return 8 CB's if J.C. Jackson or Kendall Randolph commits I think the staff lets this kid go. With limited numbers, there is no room to take a chances on a kid who has never played the position)

My guess on positions that will be short handed.
Safety (Unless a can't miss stud commits, I think the staff will pass on this position. Bush, Jenkins, & Carter will be enough and I can see Hope moving to Safety to add depth. Also the 2015 class is so loaded at the position, it makes no sense taking a chance on a kid in this class)

don't worry about it. we will sign close to 30 with 4-5 lost to attrition from the team as it is every year.

We have 55 eligible players to return. Currently 74 on scholarship, 19 seniors. There is always around 3-5 guys who leave the program. Numbers aren't a problem.

FWIW Golden likes to carry 5 QBs, he's commented on it a few times.

We can have as many as 84 on the roster next year. The penalty is not 3 each year over 3 years. It is 9 over 3 years spread out however UM wants, as long as there is at least 1 each year.

Miami has already served the 3 ships for 3 years.

This class will still be a big class and the 3 scholarships will not affect this class. However, I can see Jones, King, Perry, and maybe O'Donnell getting the boot. No recruits in this class will be left out. Peter already confirmed that

If the NCAA accepts this , I don't think by body will be ready

Kosar mentioned it a month or two ago and Miami quickly tried to squash it. Miami has 74 kids on ships right now, They have been ahead of the game the whole time and self imposing. Straight boss move by Shalala and Golden

Can we refrain from naming kids....always bugs me. No reason to throw them under the bus. There will be attrition, there always is.

Where's the bus I am throwing them under? Please show me.

I don't think any kid who committed to us during the past 3 years will be shown the door. If they work hard and don't ***** up off the field they will always have a place.
Honestly, they deserve their scholly. They stood with Miami when they didn't have to.
Loyalty works both ways.

I agree with you but Lockhart and Carter would be essential right now. I only think Jones because he has been unproductive but he could develop as he is only a RS freshman

Generally speaking, you're "asked to leave if:

- you've graduated and are not in the 2 deep and aren't a STs contributor
- you are not performing well in the classroom or on the practice field and you are in years 2-3

If a RS FR is doing everything asked of him and he's still not cutting it on the practice field for whatever reason, coaches at times will approach the kid and tell him what the deal is - he can stay on but he won't find meaningful PT. Anyway, always a tricky situation.
