The more important question is when was the last time Miami finished in the top 5? Richt has proven capable of competing at a high level, I don't see the point of trying to discredit his resume. I hate to jump in here you guys but reality is the way teams are selected for the cfb playoffs is much different than the media (AP) choosing teams.

If the cfb playoffs were around starting the year 2000... very good chance almost guarantee that UGa would’ve been selected In 2002, 2003, 2005, 2007, and 2012.

Richt would likely have had a couple of shots in the playoff. It’s made a huge difference in determining a champion.

Remember, if not for the new format Urban Meyer would have zero titles at Ohio State and Saban wouldn’t have won it last year.

You missed my post... it was actually a 10-3 season. But Upsets happen for the most part like In 2003 Miami had the best talent in the country for the 4 or 5th year in a row and still got blown out 6-31 to VaTech then lost to a barely ranked Tennessee team the next game.

Should we have lost those games with players like Sean Taylor Angel Rolle DJ Williams Johnathan Vilma Kelly Jennings Vince Wilfork Brandon meriweather Kellen Winslow Roscoe Parrish Devin Hester and Frank Gore?? **** No but we did.

But The 2003 season is really the only that’s not as much of a guarantee bc they lost twice to LSU the 2nd one being a blow out in the SEC championship.

The way the cfb playoffs is decided 2002, 2004, 2005, 2007, and 2012 would’ve been **** near a lock for at least the 4th spot in the playoffs. With 2003 an outside chance.

It’s really not even up for debate that’s what so funny about it
