When we had the best athletes numerous studs and first rounders.

Depressing
Yes it is depressing... I remember when we (players, students, fans) went to games and had total confidence that we were going to win. That good ole confidence was a drug like no other. What happened? Was it the OB? Is it coaching? or recruiting? a curse? the Shalala effect? WTF!

Joining the ACC and not hiring elite coaches and the admin-prez focused on other things and didnt want Miami to be Miami anymore. They changed the culture

Its coaching and leadership. Younger guys were probably scared ****less to underperform in front of the Ed Reed and Al Blades types. The 2001 team was player-led leadership. Other elite teams its some of that and coaching leadership. Add in the elite talent and you have supreme confidence we roll everyone

And we looked cool doing it. Cool jerseys, black on black socks and cleats. Super dark visors for some of the players. All the players looked like grown men. We had true freshmen that were future All Americans that could crack special teams, only, b/c the starters were future All Americans and pros. Speed all over the place.

In that game, we easily could’ve hung 70 on Nebraska. Had that been any other coach, we would’ve ran the scoreboard up.

So grateful I was apart of that era of Canes football, but it also reminds me how far we’ve dropped. I know w the right coach, we’ll be back in no time, just like Bama, just USC was w Carroll, just like OSU was w Meyers. No more nice guys. We need a grade-a jerk who only cares about his rep and his student athletes, and don’t give a fck about the NCAA, his bosses, or his opponents. Real talk.

Perfect storm of all of it, but mostly coaches.

I was there and that first half was amazing.

Funny end to it all, the chant of Corso Sucks as they were doing their end of game wrap up. You could clearly hear it on television as I found out when I watched Sports Center when I got back to the hotel room.
