I'm quite sure Nike has the exact template copyrighted. Keep in mind, the Mitchell and Ness jerseys aren't exact approximations. They are close, but are missing noticeable details. Unlike TAMU, whose recently rereleased throwbacks were worn BEFORE they signed with Nike, so Adidas could make them with absolutely no changes, this is a case of elements likely being unavailable, because it was a Nike exclusive design. I doubt Nike would do a solid and license the design to Adidas, so here we are.

The whole thing is over blown. The nostalgia for the 2001 jersey has absolutely nothing to do with how the jersey looks, it’s just the fact that we won the title in those.

If we won a title in a Zubaz jersey people would be clamoring that was the greatest of all time.

Facts the current uniforms are cool but we gotta be real.. it’s a dated look. We could use a new design and these would be the perfect replacement to keep Adidas from doing too much. Going from the 80s look to the early 2000s look makes sense.
