I share many of your concerns and don't have a ton of confidence in Mario.
However, his recruiting classes compared to Shannon's are one reason for optimism. Mario is building through the trenches. That's a much better place to start than what Shannon did bringing in too many wide receivers and defensive backs.
Hopefully in year three that approach starts to reap rewards.
