There was a lot of bad about the game and some good, but the worst was the oline play. They have 2 weeks to fix the oline if they can. If they can't, then they absolutely must go with one of the older Qbs. Leaving Kaaya behind that oline against some of the defenses we will face will utterly ruin that kid. Unfortunately i have no faith that Golden & Co can fix anything. I think they were just hoping to survive lville (and with a little better oline play they might have), but Kaaya's season really begins this Saturday and his future for the rest of the year will be determined by next Saturday. Lets just hope for the best these next 2 weeks.

The problem is, as coaches they should have had this figured out already. Don't start a freshman on the road in prime time unless you are prepared to take the training wheels off. To put it simply, Kaaya's talent was overshadowed by his nerves, and a hand cuffed offensive game plan.

The question there is, was Heaps healthy? Guys on this site say yes, but other elsewhere say no. The main problem starts up front with the oline. I have heard some say that the oline is not being used correctly based on their skillset. I am not football smart enough to know if this is true, but given Golden's track record of trying to fit a square peg in a round hole, it wouldn't surprise me. The oline play and the freshman qb will affect the play calling, but Coley didn't help at all by being way too conservative and predictable. Its on the coaches to fix the oline because many believe there is talent there. Its on the coaches to call a better game on offense and defense. Its on the coaches to be better prepared and to instill a tougher more aggressive yet disciplined attitude into these players. Unfortunately I don't think these coaches can do any of that, and certainly not in 2 weeks after which the schedule will be a b*tch.
