We need this game otherwise we're in an incredibly deep hole. There are 11 ACC games left before the ACC Tourney. 4 of them are against Sub .500 Teams, 3 of them are ranked opponents (UNC and UL x 2) and the other 4 are sub .500 ACC teams (in total there are 8 sub .500 ACC teams). There is no reason why we can't win 7-8 out of 11.

FSU is 11-10 (3-5). They're 2-3 in their last 5 and 5-5 in their last 10. They're 9-3 at home.

FSU has played the 96th hardest SOS (http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/rpi/_/page/1/sort/sos)
FSU has an RPI of 126 (http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/rpi/_/page/2/sort/RPI)

Players to Watch:

Xavier Rathan-Mayes: 14.2 PPG, 3.5 RPG, 4.7 APG and 1.2 SPG
Montay Brandon: 12.7 PPG, 5.4 RPG, 1.8 APG and 1.0 SPG
Devon Bookert: 10.8 PPG, 4.0 RPG, 2.4 APG and 1.1 SPG

Spread: -2.5 Miami

Interesting Note(s):

1. We've played 11 games at home. We're 7-4 in those games.

2. We've played 9 games away from the BUC. We're 7-2 in those games.

3. I wouldn't say we've played easier opponents away from the BUC either, as Duke, ND and Cuse are all difficult games. In addition, Providence is 16-5 (6-2).

4. A look back at some losses:

UVA: 19-0 (7-0)
ND: 20-3 (8-2)
Green Bay: 17-4 (6-1)
Providence: 16-5 (6-2)

UVA and ND are locks. GB and Providence are on pace to make the tourney. EKU and GT were terrible losses.

I will be there, got to catch a couple of FSU's home games this year with friends. Their biggest scoring threat is Rathan-Mayes, has a very pure shot and can get hot quickly. IMO if we limit him and control the boards we win easy.

Let's pray that GT debacle was not the start of a slide into irrelevency.

Basketball has been irrelevant at Miami for eternity. What is this "slide" you speak of. It's what we are. Miami is a football school and the less you support bball the more pressure the admin has to improve football.
