1st Quarters in Richt era - Pathetic

These numbers alone should get him fired or atleast be forced to hire a OC immediately. His teams come out flat almost every ******* game, it’s a horrible brand to sell and exactly why we have 2 offensive commits at the moment. These are the numbers against P5 schools.

Since 2016 we’ve played 30 P5 schools.
•We’ve be outscored 187 to 146
•In 19 of those games we’ve score only 3 points or less, NINETEEN GAMES, almost 2/3’s of our games
•11 of those games have been ZERO points scored

We play in one of the worst divisions in P5 conference against defenses like BC, UNC, FSU, Pitt, UVA and Duke. I’m tired of this crap man. Why are the people in charge of athletics doing absolutely nothing about this. Do they not realize the money they will lose when they can’t sell this brand. It’s all about the money but yet are so blind. Hopefully something is done after the bowl game, it has to be done.

Do you think it’s cause defenses know it’s dive, dive, 4 verticles? The guys offense wouldn’t fool high school defensive coordinators, let alone people making a million dollars.

People want to slow the pace against Brady so I can understand that, plus Suber Bowl jitters. Also they have a running clock and probably run half the plays whereas in college the clock stops after a first down. College you can have 3 series in the first quarter whereas you might only get one in the NFL.

8super bowls..not 1 touchdown tho

a NFL game where a team gets 1 possession in a quarter does not happen as much as it used too. But your right NFL games possessions are very crucial. But my point overall was how...silly that point the OP was making is. There are games I can point to where we might get off to a good 1st quarter start and still lose. And games when we get dwn in the 1qt and win. That’s why the games doesn’t stop after the first lol...this was just made to keep pushing the narrative. And there’s so much more rational things that can be pointed to other than something as tic tac as this
 
Same thing with the Dolphins for years, albeit not the past two games.

Both Miami teams are smack near the bottom in terms of first quarter offense. Basically no reason to watch unless you are a fan of multiple punts.

The Tom Brady first quarter Super Bowl trend is becoming well known. But not many people want to acknowledge Don Shula's laughable record in second halves of championship games. He played in 7 of them -- 6 Super Bowls and one NFL Championship game (1964) prior to the Super Bowl era. Shula's teams actually outscored the opponents in the combined first halves of those games, but were outscored 91-14 in the second half. Not once did Shula win the second half. In fact, the only tie was 7-7 in the second half of the 1973 season Super Bowl versus the Vikings. Shula's teams were shut out 5 times in the second half of those games, and 4 out of 5 times when he took the Dolphins to the Super Bowl.

Brady and Belichick put up more points in the 4th quarter against Atlanta than Don Shula combined during the second half of 7 championship game appearances.

It was on the uptick and we had everything going in our favor and he completely lost everything and then some. Yes Shalala ruined it and then the NCAA mess set us back for years but we are finally removed from all that. 10 win season to go along with a Top 5 recruiting class followed by a preseason top 10 to be a laughing stock and sitting with the 37 recruiting class. We have almost as many decommits as we’ve had commits. The S Florida community has flipped on this guy cause of his stubbornness and ego. So yes it was ruined long ago but we were on our way back and has since brought us back to irrelevancy.

What is that stat for the rest of the season? Pretty much what your stat says is Tom bradys team has not scored a single TD in the first quarter of 8 games. of those 8 games their win percentage is 62%. What that stat tells me is you probably want to score points in the first quarter if you want to have a good season. Unless you are OK with winning 7 games a year.

you cool with a 62% win record..my point is it’s a silly stat to just throw out in order to buffer your position on the broader issue. In 2016 vs FSU we got off too strong 1st quarter start-L
2017 vs FSU slow start-W
2017 vs wisky strong start-L
2016 vs WVU slow start-W

Yeah you want to start fast but football is fool of momentum swings emotional swings all that. 4 quarters.

Your stat basically agreed with the OP. Your stat says if you don't score in the 1st Q you only win the game 62% of the time.

Nooo lmao that’s not what my stat say my guy..my stat says just don’t get totally demolished in 1st quarters of football. Play good ball all 4 quarters and u put yourself in position too win..UGA would be about to defend a NC if the game ended after the 1st 2 quarters..personally I believe and most ppl believe the 3rd and 4th quarters are where most games wom

That is exactly what your stat says. The patriots have been in 8 super bowls. They scored 0 points in all 8 first quarters. They won 62% of those games.
Therefore that particular stat says if you don't score any points in the first quarter expect to win 62% of your games.
