You know you can compete with the big boys when you have real NFL talent. And as D$ called out in this thread, Miami has been producing less and less real NFL talent in the last 10 years - How Many NFL Draft Picks Should We Be Producing?

Well not this team. Watching yesterday it’s clear we have real NFL talent all over the field. He’s a list of guys that look like 1st - 3rd rd potential talents IMO -

Cam Ward
Damien Martinez
Xavier Restrepo
Elijah Arroyo
Jalen Rivers
Anez Cooper
Francis Maigoua

Tyler Barron
Rueben Bain
Francisco Maigoua
Meesh Powell

Real talent is that top 100 ish NFL talent.

Kiper just released his updated big board with top 25 players for 2025 draft.

He also listed his top 10 per position groups.

No Canes in Top 25. He does have Cam Ward as #4 QB which would more than likely put him first round.

Damien Martinez was #10 RB.
Xavier Restrepo was #9 WR.
Jalen Rivers was #8 Interior OL.
Tyler Barron was #6 DE.
Fransisco Mauigoa #8 LB.

Just based on last years draft where those positions went.

Cam Ward-1st round
Xavier Restrepo-2nd round
Tyler Barron-2nd/3rd round
Damien Martinez-4th round
Francisco Mauigoa-4th round
Jalen Rivers-4th round

Obviously you have 2 sophmores in Bain and Mauigoa that could be 1st round picks next season.

The glaring spot of lack of high end talent would be DT and Secondary as @DMoney has mentioned recently.

Thats what would still
Seperate a UGA, Alabama, Ohio State from us.

You hope a Justin Scott, Armando Blount, Ahmad Moten, Demari Brown, Romanas Frederique, Zequan Patterson, then 2025 recruits like Antoine and Stubbs changes that.

Mario has recruited his way into that top 10 roster conversation. It goes without saying, but to get into that top 3-5 we need an 11+ win season this year followed up by a 9/10+ win season next year — we can’t implode like FSU. Excited to see what he can do with an actual on field product to sell assuming things go as planned this year.

Assuming he keeps playing like he did v UF, he definitely made millions more by holding off a year and transferring to Miami. Round 1 talk very much heating up. But #1 pick? Still needs to climb a ways more to get there.
He is better than any qb I saw so far

If he slips into the first round some team getting a perennial pro bowler imo

He is a talent for sure but we can’t lose sight of what we knew all off season, and that is this Gators team is utter trash. Now that doesn’t change the fact that Cam is the best QB in the ACC, but it’s a bit early to anoint anyone that high YET. Don’t let my comments take away from how fvckin great last Saturday was, we did what we needed to do and utterly dominated them, but this was a team we all thought would be 4-8 this year.

They are trash but if you put TVD back there Kayaa all of those guys that’s probably a game ending FG win lol

I’m anointing him I seen enough. I said it after I saw his WSU film. And I’ll stick with it he’s super elite

Jalen rivers is a top 100 talent in terms of talent and on field production. There is not many tackles Better than him in college football imo

I think he is a top 5 QB in all of CFB. Can he be even better than that and reach that #1 level? Absolutely, his ceiling is that high but I’m not overreacting to him killing this **** UF team.

Now funny you bring up TVD and Kaaya. That’s revisionist history now cause when both were getting the hype there was some crazy **** said about both.

Remember 22 when this board was preaching that TVD was better pro prospect than Caleb who was more of a runner and not really what scouts were looking for at the next level? Do you remember the praises TVD got after the A&M win last year?

Now I think Ward is much better than both but I’m not ready to announce him the #1 guy just yet.

That’s fair and understandable and I can’t blame you that’s a solid post. I was high on Kayaa but the lack of zip on his ball imo killed him. If he had that and could be able to run he would have been a killer. But for college he was our last really decent to good one. With Cam though he has different levels and touches on his passes, they doing always look the same he throws with touch but can adjust touch and beam it as well. Crazy talent hiding at WSU.

I didn’t hear anything about him until a month before he hit the portal and saw film and it was like seeing Mahomes for me.

If Mauigoa continues to show improvement in his pass blocking he will pass Rivers by the end of the year.
