Portis running wild in the first half, up 20 in the 3rd, how did this team lose to East Carolina?

Was it the greatness of David Garrard, the elite coAching of Steve Logan, or did ECU have more talent?

Asking for a friend, TIA.

Butch hadn't become a god yet. He was still wandering through the desert barefoot getting people drunk on toilet wine so they'd believe his fairy tales.

I could be wrong, but before one of the ECU games there was only a short time for preparation because of bad weather, I believe.

ECU was Butch's kryptonite. He lost to them twice - 1996 (my freshman year at the U) and 1999 (my senior year). Thanks Butch way to bookend my college experience.

My memory is Portis fumbled a couple times and Kenny Keel couldn't complete a pass. Man he was bad

That 99 team started 4-4. Then Dorsey got in and it was all over.

Why do you idiots **** on the only good coach we've had in 20 years

I don't really care for randomly bringing up 17 year old losses but people wouldn't do that if it weren't for the Butch adorers.

My god this guy (at least retroactively) gets a pass for everything because of the sanctions. This is a guy who had a 5-6 season with a 47-0 loss.

All the bad things of his tenure are forgiven because he built a NC team but didn't even coach it.

I remember being a sophomore in High school, being at a friends getty in the grove, and fuming at that game. I was so ****ed off we blew this game.

Dorsey got in against teams that didn't even rise to tomato can level. We scored 155 points against our last 3 regular season opponents (all at home). That sounds great, right? Perspective: VT scored 182 points in their games against the same opponents. VT played 2 of those games on the road. Dorsey got in against VT and was rag dolled. Then he finished against the cripples. Don't get me wrong, I loved Dorsey. But don't try to make a legend out of beating very very ****** teams.

We still had little depth but big talent

Not enough depth. Got it.

Bad weather caused lack of prep. Got it.

Wasn't the game moved due to a Hurricane? Wouldn't that impact both teams?

Fortunately, he was finally able to beat East Carolina at UNC.

Why does your anger cause you to call people names?

Also, why do some people verbally fellate a coRch that never won anything, and used the deaths of Sean Taylor and Bryan Pata to negative recruit Miami?

Blowing a 20 point lead to an unranked, non-P5 team is inexcusable.

No one hates Paul Davis. No one wishes any ill will towards him

If the Davis crowning wasnt out of control, poRsters like Sebastian_29 wouldn't be getting so mad at those of us who push back on the circle jerk.

GTFO. Dorsey went 38-2. ******* guy was a winner as soon as he took the huddle.

Dorsey played in the second half of the VT game, our last loss that year.
Let's just say he had a slight case of the jitters.
Man, we got Blacksburged that night.

Not at VT that night.

Went very conservative (typical Botch) in 2nd half and ECU got hot. Game was played at NC State stadium because of a hurricane. Hurricane Floyd I think.

ECU barely practiced all week cuz of the flooding, but still beat Botch for the 2nd time

ECU played that "home" game in Raleigh, so if anyone got screwed, it was them.
