Yama Yama was a permanent fixture on the sidelines in the Orange Bowl... people that don't remember him are too young.

I’ll never forget going to my first Miami/FSU game in 1990 and hearing tens of thousands of people chanting the OTHER, Miami version of the FSU chant.
I hate that sh-it! Buddy of mine my freshman year was a DT and said when our fans did that version of the chant because they thought it was cool, all it sounded like on the field was more people doing the actual war chant. Stupid.

Who remembers the “Hurricane Smash” song I think it was this year, Mo Crum was on it?

Semper Canes!!!

Not the Canes, but how many of you other old timers remember the Dolphins fight song?

The OB was terrifyingly load for those Fin games back then too. We were why penalties against the crowd first came about. Many times in the west for Cane games, I felt like the 70’s Fin fans just transferred over the Canes. That end zone was feared.

I love their war chant. All those last minute wins we had while they were singing it made it one of my favorite memories. Of course, I’m old so I was there for the 80’s and 90’s. I can remember eventually joining them with my chop going wide to the right.

And those are the same people (and their kids) now that clapped along with N'Kosi before the ball was snapped. LOL

Absolutely true. Seems our Fins usually scored on the opening drive during that era. Machine like. . . .

Yeap. That usually use 10 to 12 minutes and the game was over because the defense only allowed something like 144 points all season, a record that stood until Ray’s Ravens brought it.

Do they even do yamma-yamma anymore?

Jim Fleming, the yamma-yamma guy, died some years ago.

Games are all millennial-ed out music now all different RAP and stuff we have no idea most is ignored , NOPE YAMA YAMA type stuff all gone. I myself stay in the 200 Club section bar food area watching games on all the networks in comfy chair till the last second walk out seats 6' from door.
But in YAMA YAMA years LOVED IT.

GOCANES

Yes! I remember recording that game and coming back to the dorm excited to see a 3 hour broadcast of a continuous string of musical expletives directed at FSU. Instead, it just sounded like the Seminoles were playing a home game! Such disappointment!
