There’s another channel with Canes games, Jeff McDaniel’s Vault. You’ve probably seen it….LOL, I actually watched this one a few weeks ago!!
Warren Williams #24 - That was the guy who drove home the point about the Canes talent advantage in those days. Warren Williams was never higher than RB#2 on the roster and still got drafted in the 6th round and played 5 years for the Steelers, starting 4 of them.
Dude was never good enough to start at UM but was good enough to start for an NFL team.
IIRC, our 4th running back was Daryl Oliver(he may have been drafted in 86) but he also got drafted. Thats how deep UM was back then

I think Warren started some games, maybe more than a few.Warren Williams #24 - That was the guy who drove home the point about the Canes talent advantage in those days. What about ‘88 FSU? Night game in OB, I think FSU might have been ranked number one, they put out some kind of rap video that blew up in their collective faces. I think Lou Holtz’s son might have been an FSU assistant. I remember Randall Hill catching a short pass on Deion Sanders and they were talking **** at each other after the catch. Was trying to find other big opening games on YT. To lead us into next Saturday.
It’s on YT. I may post it, especially if I can find a no huddle version. What about ‘88 FSU? That might have been a game when Joe Brodsky gave a talk at the Broward Hurricane Club luncheon a few days before the game and almost predicted a victory. He said “there was no way they could replace that TE (Pat Carter), no way they could replace that OG (Pat Tomberlin) and no way they could replace that RB (Sammy Smith)”. I think those were the three players who had graduated and were not on the ‘88 team and had given us a lot of trouble the previous year. At least I think that was the year I was at the Brodsky talk and the players he mentioned.
