the CANES played a great game, especially on defense and totally dominated the Gaytors. 31-4

Here's an offense from 30 years ago. I love the morons who claim we are running an offense from 30 years ago. Other than not one play looking similar it's exactly the same.

And yes I'd love to see lots of physical I formation and clever offshoots out of that from the current Canes. Instead we have a meek reluctant hybrid that doesn't confuse anyone or attack anyone.

Was at that one as well, Bratton was such a big playmaker for us, hated to see him suffer that knee injury. Peguese representing us fellow Spartans nicely in that one.

That's why you recruit a specialist long snapper. Back then, we assigned it to a regular player. I remember at the end of the game, the Ibis started pulling around a blow-up alligator toy. Then the cop with a big German Shepherd took the dog over and he started fiercely ripping it to shreds with his teeth. That was right in front of the student section, near the east end zone. The crowd went wild.

One thing I noticed that I would never see on TV was how much better coached and aggressive we were on kickoff returns (and there were quite a few.)At the end of every kickoff return the ground would he littered with Florida players and our players were standing up. The UF return teams couldn't block our coverage guys.

A little thing I noticed is that I never saw most of the time because I rarely got to go to games, living up north. It stuck in my mind because it demonstrated a real difference between how we played the game and how UF played it at the time.

If we had a real full-time snapper it would have been a shutout
