No excuse for losing that game none, scoring 6 points at home to an inferior teamLove Brock...but he missed a Wide Open Winslow in the End Zone that would have effectively Won the game.

Glad I wasn't but was in Knoxville the year before, what a glorious day that was.I was there....smfh
The 91 Defense was our best ever...definitely statistically. I'm not sold on Dorsey being better than Testaverde on the 86 team. Testaverde made throws that Dorsey wouldn't have been able to. His scramble against OU literally locked up the Heisman. Dorsey would've been sacked. People forget (albeit the Penn St game) how great of a CFB QB Vinnie was. Switzer always maintained VT was the best he ever played against. We lose atleast one game in the regular season without Testaverde's arm and/or legs. Walsh would've done better on the 86 team than Dorsey....Hence, 1987.As a hurricane fan, I've went back and watched canes teams before my time.
Watched some of the '83 team. '86, '88, '89, '91 teams. I've watched live since '97.
'86 Canes were the best team we had in the 80's. It was kind of unfair, lol. Comparing the '86 and '01 quarterbacks, Dorsey wasn't as gifted as Testaverde was, but if we switched their places, Dorsey wins the National Championship and the heisman going away with the '86 team.
For me, the real debate was who was the better defense; '91 Bermuda Triangle or '00-'01 Canes?
Ugh, lol.
I could buy that. I've said on record that Walsh was better than Dorsey. The 91 Defense was our best ever...definitely statistically. I don’t know if Miami beats Oklahoma in ‘86 with a Walsh or a Dorsey…maybe. The 91 Defense was our best ever...definitely statistically. Love Testeverde but he was the QB on 2 teams that should have won a Natty losing to volunteer in 86 sugar and pedo in 87 Fiesta unforgivable periodThe 91 Defense was our best ever...definitely statistically. He's still the most athletic and best QB we ever had....Love Testeverde but he was the QB on 2 teams that should have won a Natty losing to volunteer in 86 sugar and pedo in 87 Fiesta unforgivable period

One of my favorite teams as well. Kelly's 65yd TD to Rocky Belk against Notre Dame is the Nicest pass in UM History....I went to 5 games that yr.The 1981 Jim Kelly team is still my favorite Canes team ever - even after all these years and natty titles.
That was the first Canes football team in my memory that had strangers in the Orange Bowl hugging each other, pinching themselves and saying out loud that this couldn't be happening. The OB reached voltage levels that we had not experienced before that time. Golden era, man.

I was there...and the ND game. Drove through pouring rain on Alligator Alley.#19 Miami 17, #1 Penn State 14
Kelly to Brodsky 80-yard TD pass made me a Canes fan for life.

And one of the most rewarding games I ever attended. The despondent gators fan s after the game was priceless. But during that final 20 minutes vs the Crocs in ‘03 he turned in one of the finest quarterbacking performances anyone had ever seen.
I had a Gator friend leaving me phone message everytime the Gators scored to build up their 33-10 lead. The calls stopped. And one of the most rewarding games I ever attended. The despondent gators fan s after the game was priceless.
