1986 Hurricanes Highlight Film....

I had never seen this one before (and Ive seen most of them from 81 on...) and this is one of the very best.

Seriously, the NFL Films-style shooting, their music, and the Rocky IV soundtrack, Elton John (for Bennie and the Jets), young Jimmy Johnson, Michael Irvin, Alonzo Highsmith, Jerome Brown, Vinny, they really captured this season/era well. For those of you in South Florida and who went to UM in this period, you were truly blessed to have lived through this. It was a special time.

But yeah, only way this film could've been better if they would've just gave the doggone ball to Highsmith at the end of the Fiesta Bowl....

It was and I'll never forget it.

@ddann ....Flea Davis with Punter Greg LaBelle holding. Greg is a close friend of mine.

My freshman year.

What a time to be alive.

That's such a great find but admittedly very tough for me to watch because of the way the season ended. That Miami team should have destroyed that PSU squad. The defense was suffocating and the offense rolled up yards yet we somehow found a way to lose that game. Just the memory of that pedestrian Penn St. team celebrating after being dominated on both sides off the ball still makes me sick after all these years.

That 2000 team by yrs end, could go toe to toe with any UM team that ever played. Practically same team as 2001, but add on Santana and Wayne. JC....Good luck to any Secondary/LBers, that had to deal with them & Shockey....not to mention a plethora of Elite RBs.
I would agree with this statement.

Had Frank Gore never messed his knee up the 02 team would be in the same category as the all time greats. I truly believe he would’ve won the Heisman at least once between 02-03 seasons and we would’ve gone on to beat Oklahomas win streak. He was a special talent that we never got to see at full capacity…

mmmmmmmm
Im not exaggerating, I have hundreds on VHS, and bunch of Jimmy Johnson Shows, and stuff like the Decade of Dominance and CaneSport recruiting videos, Im a sicko
i understand. i have every single one up in the attic on VHS in plastic containers 1988-1994...and 99-2006 even the double AA cupcake ones

Headhunter, I dont know about you, if I ever got rid of them, Id feel like a part of me would die. I mean, those were some great memories, not just the games, but what you had to do at times to tape and watch the games. I dont know what it is, but I feel very attached to my collection even though I haven't used a VCR in year

Frank Gore is in my opinion the best ever but the 02 team had Willis McGahee rush for 1753 yards on 282 carries for a 6.2 ypc average and 28 TDs. Willis even added 27 receptions for 355 yards for a 13.1 yards per catch average. That's 2108 total yards from scrimmage and 28 TDs. My point is the 02 team was not exactly wanting at RB.
