19 QB Sam Howell

Not accurate, recruitment is pretty wide open. The kid hasn't narrowed it much at all, and is listening to a lot of schools.

Miami needs to offer Taisun Phommachanh and move on to Max Johnson for 2020.

Class of 2019 quarterback Taisum Phommachanh is loading up on offers.
As schools trickle through Avon (Conn.) Old Farms, the offers are flowing for class of 2019 quarterback Taisun Phommachanh.

In the last week, Iowa, Cincinnati, Virginia, Kentucky and Indiana each offered, and Rutgers could extend one Wednesday since Rutgers coach Chris Ash will be at the school.

The 6-foot-3 1/2, 186-pound Phommachanh also holds offers from Michigan, Minnesota, Pittsburgh and Syracuse, and now he is trying to figure out a visit schedule.

Looks like he is trying to get open for next year.... participated in 3 Openings this year.

Williams, Jarren QB 6-2 201 40: 4.83 SH: 4.45 PB: 37.0 VJ: 30.9 SPARQ: 85.08 (5/7/17 NC)
Sitkowski, Artur QB 6-5 215 40: 4.97 SH: 4.46 PB: 36.5 VJ: 26.8 SPARQ: 76.73
Phommachanh, Taisun QB 6-3 196 40: 4.97 SH: 4.69 PB: 35.0 VJ: 28.2 SPARQ: 65.79 (4/30/17 NJ)
Phommachanh, Taisun QB 6-3 194 40: 4.89 SH: 4.47 PB: 37.0 VJ: 28.6 SPARQ: 77.79 (4/23/17 DC)
Phommachanh, Taisun QB 6-3 192 40: 4.94 SH: 4.7 PB: 31 VJ: 26.7 SPARQ: 56.58 (2/26/27 Miami)

Not as big as Sit but has a better PB and VJ and faster 40 already. he may grow to be 6'4"-6'5" and should come into college around 215 in 2 years. Surprised that he doesn't have a higher VJ since he plays BBall as well but a good athlete for a QB.

Agreed. Tai's film just shows advanced skills. He's accurate, throws a great deep ball, uses his eyes to get his WRs open, and is athletic and mobile... my favorite QB for 2019.

well our staff definitely knows about Taisun as he worked out at paradise camp. surprised an offer hasn't gone out yet....big mistake imo.

I’m engineering the Tai train, kid is a monster. Won’t be satisfied with much else at QB in 2019. Pull tape of Jameis Winston and tell me their releases are not identical. If he was local I would have him as my #1 Overall must get for the class, especially if it’s true that he wants to be a Cane. Praying we don’t botch this, politics be damned

Max Johnson has to be a done deal at this point. I can't fathom a world where Richt can't close his own nephew. Don't care if he is a free shoes legacy.

Yea I'm all aboard the Tai train after seeing his JR year highlight and stats. He has all the tools and has a feel to make things happen on the field. I'm sure his competition is suspect, but I don't care.

It seems the staff likes him but is prioritizing MJ Jr. I can't hate on that because MJ Jr. looks pretty special himself (on the hyperbolic comparison front he looks like RG3). But, **** I'll be disappointed if we whiff on MJ Jr. and can't get Tai because we waited too long.

Kid is good and he passes the eye test, but I can’t help it if I’m not impressed. Competition is trash, no speed anywhere on the defense’s he’s facing. He reminds me of the kid from Ohio Taint Richard Pryor. Great passer in high school, electric on the run but he couldn’t put it all together in college and sure didn’t translate well to the NFL. I believe he’s a receiver or was I haven’t kept up with NFL. I say pass boys even if it’s not the popular answer

My thoughts exactly.

Sam Howell kid should get the coaches attention. I know someone close to the situation and is very open to listening to Miami and would love to hear more from us. Dabo, Harbaugh, and Urban Meyer have all been in the last week or so to see the kid in his school. Miami needs to start making a hard push or we could miss on a good talent.
