****#14 Miami vs. #1 Florida GAME THREAD****

Offensive execution has to tighten up for sure. But we won’t play another team with that kind of length and size until we see Duke this year, so you gotta think we will look better offensively with more space to operate.

The rotations defensively allowed some wide open 3’s for the Gators tonight. That needs to improve. It did improve in the 2nd half.

All in all, not the end of the world. Good early season test. Now we know what we are working with and what to fix…and a bunch of tomato cans at home to test everything out on coming up lol.

Didn’t play anywhere close to our best & kept it close for most of the game.

Went too long not being able to make shots, largely in-part to bad shot selection.

Defended & rebounded well, but shooting just wasn't there tonight.
Shot 35% from the floor & 24% from 3, really tough to win not making shots, especially against the preseason #1 team.

Should still be a top team in the ACC, but going forward have to place an emphasis on playing more team ball & not just going ISO rushing shots.

We should smoke the next 5 until TCU right before Thanksgiving.

Loved what I saw from Lewis & Miller.

Good lord, let's just give up on the season, after ONE GAME, against the #1 team in the country, where we have a ton of new parts. Reneau will find his role(It will change somewhat from last year, because there's significantly more depth), but he will be a significant part of this team and the player that gave us a ton of valuable minutes last year.
Its a terrible performance against your arch rival, what difference does their preseason ranking make? This Gator team has basically been together for 3yrs, how much more game film do you need to know to not dribble the ball into the teeth of their defense for 40mins throwing up bricks and getting your shots rejected? Florida would win this game 100 out of 100 times because Miami can't make jump shots. This team will finish no better than last years team. They can't shoot

Let's see what Bland and Dorn can do. Neither played much tonight

It's early but the upcoming cupcakes will probably pad the stats (and minutes) of last year's guys.

At the expense of this year's guys getting looks they should be getting

Any reason Goode hasn't played at all? I feel like he'd have been useful. No??

Not a single minute from Goode tonight? Someone please provide some insight here as it doesn’t make any sense unless he’s hurt

Disappointing that Desean didn't even get on the floor. Sorry if this was already mentioned, but wow!

I mentioned it in my post from the exhibition. He was gonna be odd man out for Reneau (basically the Cam Vaughn type situation but our HC loves Reneau, politics).. He was off in exhibition also so maybe its in his head, he was only one who didnt score I think and doubt it matters here for UF game.. He would have short leash for Reneau.. He will ride bench most likely, hope his NIL compensates him well atleast.

Im not as down on the performance as you guys.

Gators are an elite team that has been together for a while.

We are a team with a lot of new parts in our first game together. It will take time to gel.

Shelton had a rough game, but I believe he will be all-acc.

I am encouraged by our free throw shooting. It looks improved.

The rotations could improve, but Jai is a good coach. Itll take him a minute to see what works best.

Tre Donaldson will be missed. Acaden looks like a legit scorer, but didnt involve others today.

Caleb Gaskins will be good. Needs a little time to get acclimated.

Somto looked great. Will be an upgrade over Udeh.

Renuea....he will feast vs mid level opponents. Disappear most times versus elite teams. Very frustrating.

B.S. We shot well against a good Vandy team. Lucas has to figure out his rotation. Allen and Reneau are going to lose minutes.

Pretty inexplicable it was that close despite the putrid offense. Can't imagine Henderson and Malik will have many games like that.
