We are 14 days away from 2027 recruiting contact period opening. I want to highlight a few players I think/Assume we will be recruiting. It is so hard to find out who we will actually be targeting in 2027.

Top Targets
A3 Academy RHP Landon Green

North Broward Prep RHP Logan Bristol (Clemson, Tennessee)

Tampa Jesuit RHP/1B Samir Mohammed (LSU, UF, UVA)

Berkely Prep SS Lucas Farrar

This is the first class where i def know less and less outside of a few pockets up north but even that is dwindling. So this stuff is great.

Samir Mohammed - thats a big kid. crazy he is only 16. Could be a 100mph type arm in 2 years once he sheds a bit of that baby fat.

There’s some good local talent. I just didn’t want to highlight them because I don’t know how serious we will recruit them. Especially with the small roster sizes. Some of these local kids, it’s better to let them develop at an FIU or even a decent power4 team and then transfer back to Miami when there’s opportunity to play

I see a similar situation happening with Luca Reyes next season. RS at Miami, transferred to d3 Gloucester, just transferred to FIU for his RS SO season. I can see him transferring back to Miami next season. He still loves Miami, he tells me in the DM’s all the time

We also have one 2027 commit. He committed to us his freshman year right before the recruiting rules change. Really really good player. He plays 3 different sports: football, basketball and baseball

London HS (TX) SS Aiden Salinas
(This man has been dominating all summer long)

That’s just unfair to high school kids, just straight nasty

Get Gio to call up the 2027 recruits, he trusts in Miami and so should they

You're more than right on slow playing local talent.

Florida is and always be a hotbed, but talent is developing everywhere now. UM better not pigeon hole themselves by focusing on local talent. The draft should be enough to tell people that talent doesn't only exist in Florida.

There are far too many resources to stay focused on local kids.

The portal should be a high focus regardless, and you find a way to pluck the best talent you can out of high school, and it shouldn't matter where theu come from.

You're not going to get Ciscar every year. Arms from the portal should be a must as we've seen so far...but we're still lacking

Nothing is ever 100%. But him getting to campus is likely not happening. Kid might be one of the first 10 picks.

The fact that an uber talented kid who more than likely won’t make it to campus but trusts in Miami should show other kids that are not as talented that they should also give Miami a serious look

He is one of five players I highlighted who I would have possibly taken back for this upcoming season

I agree, I think what you will see from this class will be mostly RHP and LHP pitching. If they take position players, it will be guys who are SS and maybe one C. I would expect this class to be anywhere between 8-12 total guys.

Want to highlight four local kids who could be options for us.

Belen Jesuit OF Jake Cueto (Committed to Miami on 8/4/25

Columbus OF Alejandro Rivero (Did not play Varsity last season) (OV: Stetson)

Columbus C Evan Paul (OV: Ohio State) (Committed to Miami 10/20/25)

Chaminade Madonna 3B Jake Carruthers

He thinks a school like ours will have 3-5 total players in our 2027 class. I expect it to be slightly more. Especially with an emphasis on Pitching

I think you’re said it before but unless their clear cut stars like a Yoyo or Cuvet why waste a spot when you can grab a for sure thing in the portal
