13th in Final AP Poll

So we’re sitting here saying that the team who beat #1 and #3 in consecutive weeks in the playoffs and won the national championship didn’t “deserve” to be there because they lost one Road game at night against their arch rival?

Ok.

I’ll take #1 3, but putting us behind ND strains credibility. That said, it means they respect our home field again. We put that crap to bed this year. It was a fun year with a lot of progress made, even if it doesn’t feel like it at this moment. There’s work to do, but we’re closer than we feel.

Their best win was against LSU. The same LSU that lost to Troy. If that's a resume that gets you into the playoffs...... Oh wait, they had the best quality loss. Auburn... Last time I checked, Auburn has 4 losses, so yeah.

ND beat USC 49-14. USC won the PAC and went to the Rose Bowl. I'd say that was a more impressive win than the LSU game.

The ranking system is fuqed up real bad its a broken system,,,,,,no one should ever make the playoffs I dont care if u were the best team all year and not even play in your conference championship. Unbelievable how fuqed up the system is, win your conference period. Everyone says osu lost 2 games **** the giants lost 7 and won the ship. Its so broken its ridiculous the whole **** is corrupt. U cant leave it to peoples opinions u have to set goals and marks and make that the rules to get in and thats it no more bytching, a conference title game should be considered a playoff game period.

I can appreciate this in spirit, but it doesn't work with 5 power conferences. There is still going to be someone giving their opinion of which conference champion doesn't belong. At least not without some other metric involved to definitively clarify which conference doesn't deserve a shot.

OK, you established that Alabama didn't have a "Great Best Win" prior to the playoffs. I agree. So what? They still had just one loss, which was on the road to an Auburn team that happens to be their arch rival and had also just beaten the #1 team in the country. You also haven't established who deserved to be there more than Alabama. What, two loss Ohio State who had no "Great Best Win" either and got smoked, and I mean absolutely butt rape smoked, twice? I mean, this argument that Alabama didn't belong in the final four was silly at the time and looks especially so in hindsight after what they just did the last two weeks.

Stop making me stick up for those ********.

It was a great year in college football and for Miami fans.

We were in great spirits from summer to Thanksgiving weekend. Not many fan bases can claim that.

I was talking about Bama.

Well, an undefeated UCF that beat Auburn must have belonged. Here's hoping they will start doing playoffs AFTER bowl games are played.

Yeah ND ahead of us is ******* crazy. And anyone that put them ahead of us is an absolute idiot.

But on the bright side, we did finish top 15. So clearly an improvement.

Gotta always keep improving.

Kinda surprised to be honest we looked like dookie for all but about two quarters in our last three games.

We finished on a 3 game skid down the stretch after topping off at #2 in the rankings before the skid...

Sounds fair

I'm glad we had the early signing period. Might have lost 1 or 2 players because of how we played in the last 3 games.

Completely agree. No team should be considered if they do not AT LEAST win their division. That should be the basic requirement. Bama should not have even been in this playoff I don't care if they were the best team in history. UCF should have gotten that spot. Maybe they get their a$$ whipped or MAYBE they pull out a massive upset, like we did for our first NC. The game is played on the field.

Alabama's accomplishments prior to being given the 4th playoff spot?

Conference? Division?

Beating 18th ranked LSU.

I saw the same hilarious question on many boards prior to the playoff selection: "Who did Alabama beat?"

Fortunately the committee was not as dense or limited. But the fact that the question was posed is devastating evidence of how far the sports fan intelligence level has slipped, in this era of fixation on strength of schedule.

Anyone questioning who Alabama beat needed to be seated in a corner and had his noggin tapped repeatedly by a doctor...searching for any signs of activity.

Still believe we’re top 10

Seems like a pretty legitimate question to me. 18th ranked LSU is their signature win. To act as though SOS is not a valid form of judgement is more telling about intelligence than not.
