I believe six is the right number for the playoffs. Top two get a bye, preserves the integrity of the regular season, and allows for the possibility of every conference champ and a top performing G5 team to make it.

They're basically just keeping the same 4-team playoff that they already have and adding an additional game prior to allowing the "real" playoff teams to play four other teams that have made it through some BS also-rans.

I’m the first that Mario was horrible this year, but I have to think he will learn from his mistakes. My prediction is that we will come close to making the playoffs in 2024, and will be part of the 12 team playoff in 2025. Go Canes!

Agreed, I remember a time when folks were concerned that athletes were playing too many games. Not good for their bodies or their academics. But money talks and walks.

NFL cares about player safety until they see the money they’ll make off one extra game in the regular season and two extra playoff games. Weird.
