12 cents From Rellyrell

I had to wait late to post this; simply b/c of pure anger flowing threw my blood.

This was the classic “giving the game away” moment. Ya’ll know I keeps it 💯 w no homerism in game, so here’s my take from today’s game.

1. Can we please stop using the term “elite” w any of our players? Elite don’t miss tackle after tackle. Elite don’t drop TDs or muff punts in clutch moments. Elite don’t give up 10 sacks and an ungodly amount of QB pressure. Elite doesn’t allow a make shift OL to give a rattled-by-nature QB time to just throw the ball at will. Our young men are good, but not elite.

Totally agree

2. I’m not sure why Enos didn’t pull Jarren to the side and just tell him it’s OK to throw the ball out of bounds. Him holding on to the ball for literally 5-6 secs was inexcusable.

We don’t know if he did or not, my guess is he did.

3. Will Mallory....he’s beginning to look like a Green Tree All American.

I bit way to soon for this analysis

4. Shaq and Pinckney, extremely disappointed in them. I’m still waiting for Shaq to show me something in big games.

They didn’t seem to be apart of the action but our D played really well so no idea what the game plan was but my guess is he didn’t need them to be putting up 1000 tackles. Florida had 52 yds rushing.

5. The DBs by far looked like the best coached unit, which is ironic b/c it’s so thin.

YEP

6. Bravo Mr Dallas; hats off to you! Helluva game by that boy!

Agreed

7. ST is still broken in all facets. Ridiculous

Broken not so much, still not good I’d agree with. Hedley punted with a 42.5 avg in tough situations and hit a 49yder. Baxa 2/3 FG I mean he’s going to miss FG but that 20yd was bad. Muff punt yes but outside of that Baxa boomed kicked balls in end zone and tackling was solid no big returns. So I think broken is a bit dramatic

8. UF tried to give us the game & we refused to take it.

Yes

9. Where tf is Pope???!!

🤷🏻‍♂️

10. The refs absolutely sucked. While they didn’t lose us the game, they certainly killed momentum and gave UF momentum several times by either calling bad PIs, missing blatant holds, calling holds on us that weren’t there (see Harris’ run) or missing a false start that was extremely egregious. Yet, they didn’t miss a beat on any resemblance of an infraction on us.

Refs sucked majorly for both teams

11. I’m tired of the talking. I didn’t see toughness; I saw confusion, and an ill-prepared team, and that was on both sides. Had we played against an actual good team w an offense, we would’ve got lit up, legit.

I saw a young inexperienced OL that got worked, I saw a team or teams that hadn’t played a game yet and first action vs a team other than themselves and typical play for game 1 vs a Top 10 team

12. Get rid of the Turnover Knuckles. It’s weak & corny af! I don’t care if we would’ve won the game. The gimmicks r too much! It showed on & off the field. We’re beginning to look like clowns. The chain, in general, is losing its mystique and that happens when you’re continuing to lose & momentum is not shifting, despite the TOs.

Totally disagree I loved them, thought it was a clever idea. I think fans are 50/50

Listen, I don’t want to hear this was Jarren’s 1st game, excuse. We have ample sample sizes now w Tua, Winston, Hurts, Manziel, & of course, Lawrence. These kids r coming out balling, despite youth & inexperience. The fact is, Jarren needs help; and unfortunately no matter how talented he may be, this OL is an unmitigated disaster. E

Yesterday was a mess on both sides of the coin. The trenches can no longer be filled w 3 star guys; in order to be back, the trench must be flushed w elite caliber players, not just Green Tree All Americans.

Mullen did with Franks what Enos should have done with Jarren . Most of Franks completions were quick short passes, despite the fact our D line wasn’t getting much pressure anyways . It seems like we were running longer developing plays . I’m just shocked to see us only getting 1 sack on Franks when pressuring him should’ve have been there objective #1

But for the guys actually at the game who could see the whole field , were our receivers atleast getting open downfield on the plays where Jarren didn’t have enough time or held the ball too long , or did he just have nowhere to go with it ?

UF Returned their top 6 WRs, a 3rd year QB, and all their RBs, and TEs - with a PROVEN NC OC/QB coach. They got less than 2 yards per carry - and 66 passing yards off of one terrible tackling play.

They AVERAGED 45 points down the stretch last year. I don’t celebrate losses. I fugging hate the Gaytors. But, folks are going overboard with their criticism.

And we had 4 **** corners total , 3 of which were new starters . Our defense played **** good imo especially for the first game against a much more experienced offense . Outside of Swain big catch and Toney screen, their skill players were completely locked up

you are right about overhyping are players. Jeff Thomas is perfect example. elite athlete not elite player.

our LB's have always been overrated. Huff and Brooks are probably the most talented kids we had since DP.

Pope has a problem remember the playbook

i disagree. this team showed toughness and heart. mainly the defense who has been under manny for 3 years.

there was some positive, as you said our DB's looked good. Hall, Amari, Gil, look like they have improved.

Here’s y I said I saw an ill-prepared team; UF gifted us two unforced TOs. The def was on the sideline chirping to each other about missed assignments. In our red zone trips, where was Hightower? Njoku?

Like I said, this was a classic give away game. UF didn’t beat us, that I’m certain of. We clearly gave them this game, despite the **** poor refereeing.

Yes. I’m actually more disappointed in our MLB and JT than anyone else. JT cost us 14 - and 55 wasn’t even touched on the Felipe TD run... just overran it like he did against Syracuse all day 2 years ago. A 4 year starter has to dominate in a game like that. We barely heard his name.

With that said... I watched the game again. Our defense played **** good. Even with spotty tackling. They couldn’t run against us. **** poor tackling cost us 7 early. But, we pretty much shut them down aside from that.

We’re going to be good IMO.

Yes get rid of the chain and rings and all that stuff. This team never lives up to the hype.

I mean the D has been pretty **** good since the chains arrival sooooooooooo a bit of over reactions.

Let’s not have any fun because we lost

Def played well; we couldn’t flip the field, but don’t get it twisted, UF had a poor showing as well. Those two fumbles? Those weren’t forced. That 1st int? That was a **** poor throw over a wide open WR. We got zero back field penetration dang near all game; although I’m wondering y Rosseau wasn’t in, b/c he was getting penetration.

My point is, if u go back & watch the game u’ll see that UF shot itself in the foot several times v. our def dominating like we had. As mentioned, our 2ndary was solid af, and kudos to Rumph and Banda.

i did see hightower in on red zone. Njoku is not that good

If you don't think Bandy and Jordan are Elite then you need to stop watching football and go play chess.

U’ve given me two players out of 22 and u know exactly wtf I’m talking about. Jordan is the best TE in football, period, and I stand by that. Bandy is a dog; and his name is muddy badger for a reason.

I hate when fans try to give an outlier to be contrarian. U know good & f’ing well we called Garvin, elite. Shaq, elite. John Ford, elite. Thomas, elite. Pinckney, elite. Mallory, elite. Donaldson, elite. Jarren, elite. Pope, elite.

What we’ve done is put undue expectations on these guys and have set us up for disappointment. Shaq is a good player. JT is a really good player. Pinckney is an instinctual player. Donaldson is serviceable to good. Jarren showed flashes of being good. Mallory is great in practice but have seen nothing in game.

My point is, when we use that term “elite” then we subconsciously expect elite results. This is a good football team that has good qualities, but I’ve seen elite in this program, and we’re not remotely close to that.

We should, however, have zero problems winning The Coastal this yr; if we don’t, then I would be at a lost for words.

Dude I'm responding to the quote you said at the beginning of this thread. Just because you're wrong you don't have to go all out on a tangent. Just admit you're wrong about having "No Elite Players" and move on.

This! (and this! on the other poster too).

Don't know if everyone is just hurt or still drunk from last night. What about last year made you think we we so close that we would dominate with freshman tackles, Qb, and coaches?

We gave their "all world" defense 20+ negative plays and still gained as many yards as they did. Our qb had 0 picks to their "heisman candidate's" two. We out TOP'd them by 50%.

These aren't moral victories, but UF has pretensions of being in the SEC championship game. We played as sloppy as possible, and still could've won. If we play this bad, we'll still be likely to win all our coastal games.

Way more hopeful this year than after LSU.

Two things stood out to me. The Db's looked good while the D Line looked horribly average.

We give Rumph a ton of crap for his recruiting problems....but truth be told he's the best teacher on the staff.

The D line was a MAJOR disappointment last night. UF's offensive line was just as big a question mark as ours and they didn't apply anywhere near the amount of pressure I expected to see.

I said it before the season and many on this site thought I was crazy....but we have an issue at DT. We've got a depth chart full of JAG's at that position.

You made some valid points. I feel like we stopped the run on D but we couldn’t get any pass rush, which is alarming considering FLs Oline is supposedly suspect. I hate making excuses about refs but they impacted the game way more than they should have. I do have confidence in Jarren and felt he played great, all things considered. I also have EXTREME FAITH in Manny. This is all just a feeling I have and not based on tangible evidence. I feel like he’s smart and willing to make the hard decisions and necessary changes that Miami needs. Listen to the post game interview. Not only do I think he understands what it takes for Miami to become what we all remember, listen to the 4:05 mark. Don’t ask him no bull**** *** question because he ain’t gonna take no crap and answer with Coach Speak.

I agree with everything you said , I wouldn’t say our D dominated, but at the same time, unforced errors are just a part of the game and will happen **** near every game. Although I think Rousseau played a factor in that 1st INT, he flashed inside on a stunt and made Franks think he had to throw it higher than he did . Even with their DEs wreaking havoc and with all of our unforced penalties and mistakes (which if you tally them all up we had much more than they did) , we still outgained them

But on the other side of the coin their offense was also gifted the ball on the 11 yard line, a blatant false start on a key 4th down was ignored, a bs pass interference call, and there were multiple missed holds and also a missed delay of game call . All benefits for their offense .

what happened to jw and enos freaking suck we in trouble should let Martell play or Perry we had a offense of curse

Man oh man if only we could’ve tackled. We’d have at least half as many sacks as they did us. Oh well up next is UNC
