Exactly. I'm done with these lofty expectations. The bar was set pretty low last season. I'm not expecting to run the table from here. No way.

and were a short hair away from beating a team fresh off a 10 win season, ranked #8 that was supposed to contend in mullen's 2nd season, despite ALL that you mentioned.

10 sacks and 14 penalties are correctable.
 
Championship Teams learn how to win. You all know the story about how Dabo built his team over time. It took him almost five years.
Don’t expect the Canes to win out. They’re not there yet mentally. They’ll drop a **** in Virginia or at Pitt. It can’t be helped.

That's where I see it. We'll lose another one somewhere down the line, possibly two. I don't see worse than 9-3, and we will be playing our best ball (fingers crossed we stay healthy) at the end of the season.

We're home vs. UVA.

I don't think we lose at home this year, but UVA is well coached and disciplined and will be a tough game, but I just can't see their offense doing enough to beat us unless we turn it over 3-4 times.

FSU is always going to be a battle. At Pitt could be a trap. You just never know.

- Defense is stout and did a great job outside of some missed tackles. What's even crazier is that we were missing some big time talent in Bubba, Nesta and Ivey. If we get everyone together it will be hard for me to see teams scoring more than 14 points on us.

-Manny is weaning out "the disease" and changing the culture of the team quick. I was very impressed with the fight in the midst of the adversity.

-I'm praying Nelson and Campbell can put it together throughout the season. They had a very tough matchup so i'm not quitting on them but I hope they don't take the defeat to the heart and instead use it as motivation to work even harder. They both have very good potential at the tackle spot.

We have freshman starting at three key spots on the field. Are we kidding ourselves thinking that we can run the table?

After the game I felt we were a 6-7 win team.. now that I’m not as depressed I feel we can get 8-9 wins if the line can get better
 
10-2 is the very high ceiling. And that’s being generous.

Realistically we’re looking at 8-4/9-3. Very hard to overcome a **** o line, and questionable coaching.

With that offensive line, I don't know. It would be nice to go 11-1. It's not like we weren't literally the favorite in every game in 17 except for Clemson (ND became favored in the last week or two leading up to the game). We killed ND but literally every other garbage team was able to hang with us for either a half, or the whole game. While we clearly have had the talent to go 11-1 every year it hasn't happened. A close loss against a suspect UF team doesn't fill me with hope after the last 15 years or so of this.
