10+ win team.

With a good coach, this is a 10-11 win team next year. With Alf, it's a 7-8 win team.

Butch 95-96-97-98-99...

Dont want

Worst post ever. Don't just look at the records, he was essentially playing with half of a roster. Get a clue.

Agreed, that's why butch gets a pass here by the fans. But fan base still flew banners and wanted him gone. Now everyone wants him back because he recruited the best team of all time. Just weird to think about

We're 15 years removed from a championship not 3-4 like when butch took over.

I like butch too but the hypocrisy of the fans wanting him back and the thought of many that just becuase it's him we will again assemble the best team of all time is farfetched to me.

One comforting thing in getting butch is that we know what we're getting. I have no faith in the administration to pick someone randomly who will succeed.

Butch relies on his coordinators 100%.

He will not have enough $ to hire coordinators that are good enough.

I want a head coach that manages the the offensive side of the team himself with the help of his staff. That is the formula for success in today's college football world.

If you get Herman or Chud, they don't have to spend $1 million on an offensive coordinator.

You would need a QB coach and some stud recruiters.

Coley is basically all alone running the offensive with no support from the staff.

Who would Butch be able to bring in as OC next year that he could afford.

Please tell me...I am dying to know.

Coley is making 500gs now for comparisons kiffin is making 680gs at bama, so butch would be able to get a oc that's plenty good enough.

And butch never went and poached big name coaches he always got young coaches with potential. So a guy like ken dorsey who has been the qb coach in carolina for 3 years and spent 2 under chud would be a option.

Butch was a crappy game day coach but it didn't stop him from assembling the most talented team in college football history. He also started making UNC a legit team before he got the boot. He is our best option because we can get him on the cheap.

UNC was a good / legit team before Butch. Ever hear of a guy named Mack Brown? He had multiple 10 win seasons there when seasons were shorter.

Where has he ever said he would come here cheaply? **** is said on a message board and then repeated as fact, this being a classic example.

Also to the OP, Butch has one 10 win season in 10 years of coaching. BHim and 10 wins don't go together or haven't to this point.

Your missing a few items...Like Carl Torbush and John Bunting coaching for 8/9 years after Mack Brown left...

Butch Davis will make this team a 10+ win team next season no doubt in my mind. That + he will keep this class intact.. Give him Artie+Elder back so won't be so depleted at DB, and that boy Gerald Willis is coming next year this team will be nasty.. Only him and Chip Kelly maybe will be able to do that, keep these Juniors for their senior season, and keep this class intact that is. I'm impressed with the heart these kid showed today, and I feel for em.. How they competed with such bad coaching really is astonishing. Jimbo lucked out with Winston and Al Golden sorry *** coaching the Canes.. No matter the many 5 star recruits he gets, it won't matter once Butch comes.

If you said Gary Patterson, then I would agree with, but Butch? He's a great recruiter, but wasn't always the best gameday coach. Lets not rewrite History. I want Butch for the recruits he will get, but Patterson is the one who gets wins, even with less talent.
..

You're drunk. Go sleep it off.

You must have been drunk all those years Butch was coaching if you think he was a great gameday coach.

****, we didn't even have enough players to enable a simple scrimmage.

STFU.

Well, let's see.

Oh crap! That's right! Butch has been traveling the country for a couple years now, meeting lots of coaches, observing lots of teams, lots of offenses, lots of defenses -

You THINK?

What has Chud done as a HC? I wouldn't mind Herman at all, but Chud? I got nothing but love for him, and well welcome him back as an AHC under Butch. Then after we win some NC, learns a little from Butch, and Butch decides to retire he can be our HC.... In all seriousness we need someone proven. Chud isn't an answer.
