10 things I want to see against CMU this week

Mensah, Toney, and Fletcher need to get their stats as quickly as possible and then sit.

We need a Heisman for national relevance, clout and recruiting.

I need to see changes to the O Line.
You’d be furious as well as the rest of the fanbase if Toney aggravates or sustains a major injury while stat padding for the Heisman against a cupcake..If he was fully healthy I’d agree w you but he’s dinged up man put that boy in some bubble wrap this week idgaf

I dont think Moten plays. He’s seeking a 2nd opinion on the shoulder so that tells me his agent doesnt want hin to take any unnecessary chances.

I know Moten plays thru injuries. I’m not questioning his willingness to play thru pain. But, this is his money year.

just get him ready to go up to Death Valley...

1. I want to see Mensah, Mali, Moten, and Fletcher play the least amount of plays possible.

2. I want to see Nickel and even Coleman play as many snaps as possible, especially whoever they plan to be our #2 QB in case of an emergency. Full offense.

3. I'm not going by priority, or else this one would be #s 1-5, but I'd like to see evidence of the supposed plan that our OL will look different in November. "We're getting guys ready and slowly bringing them along," except up 24-7, 31-7, and 31-13, we didn't see a lineup change.

4. I would LOVE to see an actual OL lineup change combinations instead of rotation. Even if you want our Tackles and Center to stay exactly where they are, then sit them down alongside Mensah, Mali, Moten and Fletcher. Let's see someone else at RT, especially. Cantwell, I'd hope, but Hawks, too.

5. While we're rolling out this makeshift DBackfield, I would love to see us tighten up our zones. I mentioned on a separate thread how absurd we look sometimes when LBs drop into the ether. But, to add, we had Safeties/DBs basically holding hands on one play while a zone was totally vacated. Can we clean this up?

6. To that end, can we see different LBs get early snaps? Like a lot of early snaps? CMU basically runs the ball, and I'd like to see more pass coverage reps, but I'll take whatever we can use as development time and tape.

7. I'd like to get another glimpse of Keona Davis at DT and then a lot of reps for some young DTs. I know we won't likely trust them unless there is "no choice" need, but I didn't love what I saw from Keona Davis inside against Wake. We absolutely need a strong top 4 DT rotation, and Davis looked more like Blount in 2025 where he'd be a better fit as a pass rushing DT than someone who could consistently hold the POA if he's needed to start. Maybe he just needs more reps and to play with more leverage, or maybe he's better suited for a different role (hybrid or 5T?). This is the type of game to figure that stuff out.

8. I don't want to see a single KOR on either side. Just eliminate those risks in this type of game.

9. Circling back to individuals, I'd like to see a backup Center get a solid amount of snaps. Woodrow? Buchanan after him? Someone. Let's see 20+ snaps.

10. I'd like to see Wingo and Jacobs into the boundary at WR. Show it off.

Add your own or just pray. Let's get healthy.
1. At minimum, they're playing a half. I'm convinced they have to play more and I'll explain why later.

2. See 1.

3. I think the rotations will return. Went back to see the Wake game and we did not rotate at all. Their plan was to stick with 65 and 66 and it backfired.

4. Doubt it. He'll trot out 65 again. They're aware of the noise and I presume Mario wants to give him a shot to prove someone wrong. I disagree with that, but eh...

5. We probably will do that, because CMU is a triple option team. We'll have to condense and run defend all game.

6. We'll probably have to rotate anyway.

7. Tbh, I haven't seen him at all. Same with 91. Hasn't shown up yet.

8. Well, you will. I don't think CMU will kick out of the endzone.

9. See above.

10. They'll play more. It's just unsure to see the extent of it. Wouldn't be surprised if we lean into a run heavy game plan to reduce the length of the game as much as possible.

Size on the OL

Go out there with Samson-Wilkerson-RR-McCoy-Cantwell and watch them road grade. McCoy and Cantwell are interchangeable.

I dont know anyone. I just get lucky meeting people. But my wife and I actually spoke to his Dad and family at the game. His family are very kind. His Dad is as big or bigger than him. He is his father's son for sure. And so friendly to talk to our community

His Dad was not concerned at all. Whatever thats worth.

No shade in the least, but honestly I don't think this is worth much. And I'm only saying this because this was literally at the game he got injured in. I'd feel much better if you told me this conversation happened yesterday after we got home and he had imaging done.

Jaxson Dart wanted to go back into the Giants game Monday night, so much that they took his uniform. Then the trainer told Harbaugh 4-6 weeks. Then they got home, stuck him in an MRI, and he's out for the year.

Clean re penalties
Clean in ST
No injuries

I assume all the rotation of players will be where would like them

I care less if we win 3-0. No more injuries…rest the banged up players. Its a marathon not a sprint

I would like to see the big boys in at G. Let them get actual snaps to work thru mistakes instead of SJ. He’s just too small man
