Remember when Larry Fitzgerald and Pitt was stifled by Taylor, Mo Sikes, and Rolle all day long on a very cold night in November after Thanksgiving. I was at game and it was a beauty to watch. One of Miami's overall best performances all year against a pretty good Pitt team. Sean Taylor was the best safety ever at Miami including Ed Reed IMO. He had a great game!

Hopefully Miami rises up to win Sat on senior day. Go canes!

It wasn't a huge blowout but Pitt wasn't on our level. And that's when we started to play down to our competition and drop inexplicable games.

Yeah, in those days the likes of Fitzgerald and later Calvin Johnson would be held in check. Fitzgerald still got his touchdown to keep his streak alive.

That defense was still loaded with most of the core from 01. Actually the main difference in that team is the QB and no huge WR threat. Parish was ****ing in a bag. The other WRs on the team were "okay" but they wouldn't be solid leaders for a few years. Ryan Moore was okay for that year alone.

Gore was hurt too and our RBs were slower and not as good. We were a good QB away from winning the NC in my opinion since our D was magnificent. Wilfork, Taylor, Vilma,Dj Williams, etc was incredible!

They were a Brock Berlin, not seeing a WIDE open Kellen Winslow in the endzone against Tennessee from playing for the NC....We were a Good QB away from winning a NC??...Berlin was plenty good enough if Coker would've left him in the Shotgun....he was 5-0 against FSU and UF....and his 2nd half against UF in 03, is the best 2nd half performance by a UM QB in UM History.

I remember when UM played VT at the OB and the announcing crew had Steve Spurrier on the air to preview his NFL game....announcers turn to Spurrier and first observation he makes is (paraphrasing) it was nice to see Berlin playing again and that he was always a better QB playing from the shotgun....so someone tell me why Coker insisted on lining him up directly under center? Berlin would have been dynamite playing for a June Jones type of coach.

Brock threw for 7,300yds and 42 TDs at UM...Not to friggin Shabby....No UM QB in our History ever went 5-0 against FSU and UF....Soooo very underrated and misused half his time here....and an outstanding kid.

That Tennessee game was when I realized Coker was a corch. Berlin in the shotgun would have got us the win and a NC game appearance.

I was at that game. Coldest football game I've ever attended but it was worth it for the great win. Tailgating consisted of fires in oil barrels under the overpass. Not exactly the Orange Bowl or Hard Rock.

yeah it was...20 degrees and then add in the wind. Heinz Field was relatively new at that point and was pretty nice...I was glad i was staying right across the bridge on the point

One thing is for sure, we Miami fans were spoiled with the players who wore the U. I loved those uniforms.

Cold as **** sitting in the open end of the stadium that night. We kept running to the heated bathrooms to warm up.
