10 days later

It was a brutal way to go out. But it ain’t 2003. The game wasn’t ripped from us. We lost. Didn’t play our best. Refs didn’t blow the game. Mario couldn’t be more different than Coker and paying players is legal

Yeah. As fans we like to highlight the mistakes, plays we didn't make, etc. But truth is IU made the plays when they needed them. Multiple 4th down conversions, and the back shoulder throws they connected. It is what it is. If we are healthy all next year, find me a better team/offense. We will be back.

Yeah it sucks Miami could have won. But the season was a HUGE success. Canes wins: ND, USF, uf, FSU, VT, Cuse, NC state, Pitt, A&M, taint, Ole Miss. 13-3 with 3 losses by total of 16 points. Title game loss by 6. Best season since my 23 year old son has been alive and listening to me tell him every year "man Miami is looking good this year". So glad I got to see it all. How bout them Canes!

The difference between the first half and the second half on defense was incredible. Once Xavier Lucas was in the defense changed and IU wasn't able to run /pass like they were in the first half. Tough thinking about "what might have happened if..."
Targeting on Lucas in the game prior not called or erroneously upheld
Missed field goal
No blockie by the TE (who shall not be named) on the blocked punt/TD
Get a stop on one of the 4th downs.
Tackle Mendoza
Beck throws underneath to an open receiver instead of the deep ball.

Like many have said, the opportunity was there.

I am excited for the new season.

Are we 100 days from a 100 days yet?? (Asking for a friend)

Exactly how I feel….except every once in a while the thought creeps into my mind of “****, what could’ve been….one more play, walking out national champs in our home, after 24 years, etc.”

Same here. But that does not make me any less content with the 2025 season.

Might be more fun to win it all in Vegas next January... All I'm sayin' :giggle:

I woke up the next day thinking I was going to be sad. But then I realized what we had been through the last 23 years then I was good. For the first time I actually realized that what Miami does on the field doesn’t affect me personally in any way shape or form. Idk if it’s growth or what, but I was still happy with what the guys did this year. No one gave us a shot to even make the playoffs and we made it to the natty

Erroneously upheld missed FG? Which are you referring to?

And I still can't get over the fact that our offense mulliganed an entire half and we still had to shoot ourselves in the foot 4 other ways to not win a title.
I was never that upset. Teams been bad basically my whole life so this run just has me still smiling and losing on the last possession while it sucks it’s also all I could ask for if u told me at the beginning of the year we would have the ball last with a chance to win the Natty

Two things can be true:

1. We played w house $ all CFP, exceeding expectations, therefore u have to classify this as our best season since 2003.

2. We **** the bed in the Nat’l Championship game similar to 1986. Ironically, just like Testaverde threw a game synching int to end our comeback while driving, so did Beck. Just like penalties, & inopportune turnovers did us in 1986, it did us in this title game.

This team felt like 1983, an improbable, unforeseen Nat’l Title winner, but fell flat like 1986 (although in ‘86, we were the prohibitive favorite vs. underdog).

All-in-all this is best season I’ve witnessed since being out of college. When I wear my Canes’ gear, it’s gone from “Wait, ur a Canes fan???” to “Wait, u’re a Canes fan?!!!!!” Just have to keep up the momentum & not be a one hit wonder b/c in today’s landscape of CFB, we’ve seen teams go from Dark horse, Cinderella stories one yr to My Little Ponies, Children stories the next.

I look at the loss to Indiana similar to the loss at Washington in 2000. Obvious what ifs, but you can tell we about to go on a heater…

And with Mario talent acquisition should allow for sustained run as well.
