And I still can't get over the fact that our offense mulliganed an entire half and we still had to shoot ourselves in the foot 4 other ways to not win a title.
I woke up shaking my head to the blocked punt. Eat it, grab a workout then “feel better”, next year is coming and we ain’t stopping.

No diddy, run through a mfers face.

After waiting and being miserable for 23 years, it's a tough thing to process/wrestle with.

On one hand, we've been miserable for 23 years and this is BY FAR the best season we've had AND the biggest reason for optimism we've had. So we should be thankful/grateful for that and excited about what's next. But we probably felt optimistic and hopeful in 2002 a well. Not knowing it would be 2 decades+ before we'd be nationally relevant again. So there's always that fear of "did we miss our chance?"

At the same time, it's hard to accept that we lost when it felt like there were so many ways we could have won that game. In the 2nd half, they couldn't stop us on offense and they couldn't protect Mendoza at all. Every break went their way and we STILL had the ball to win the game.

Good news is Larry Coker and Mario Cristobal could not have had more different paths to the championship games. Mario has us trending up.

It sucks. Miami needed to only make one more play and they win the game. The 3 big plays. The blocked punt, the 4th and 5 run, and the INT.

Fair. We were the better team, but made more mistakes. Lost.

It sucks.

It is different era with the portal and the playoff gaunlet. Noone thought it would be 20+ years when the Buckeyes stole the natty in AZ.

don't forget that Indiana converted TWO 4th downs on that drive... so, 4 plays... we just needed one of them to go our way...

Yep. As I wrote elsewhere, Cam would have won the game on that last drive. Beck was good in the playoffs, but not great in that final moment. No question in my mind that Cam would have won the game. If Mensah is all that people expect, UM will win if put into a similar situation.

I’m over it and excited cause I know we going to make a run again. I’m more stunned we had such a run and it was a good one.
Yeah. I don't see the season as a failure. Had UM missed the playoffs, sure a big fail. Once in, the Canes shined. Heck, just beating OSU made the season for me. (It also won me a free lunch from an OSU friend.) Some people were looking for a humiliating loss to Indiana. Canes should be proud. They had a legitimate chance to win their 6th Natty. Who expected that after the losses to Louisville and SMU?
