1 Running Play

I’m pretty sure UM had over 80+ yards rushing in the 3rd. Dawson finally got a little creative and gave the defense different looks. Which is crazy, why wait to have a bad run performance to start calling the run game correctly?

90 in the third but still down 10 in the fourth and we went pass again. its what works and also we got a lot of run yards from cam which makes up the stats
 
Reality is we dont really need Martinez. The thing is we brought him in because Fletchers injury was an unknown and you didn't want to take a chance with what was on the line this season.

I wonder if NIL has anything to do with play time/if politics are involved - look at FSU and DJ U

need CJ JR on some jet sweeps

Get Fletcher and Lyle more carriers - AJ Allen deserves a few as well

What about the counter Fletcher TD against UF. What happened to that play

I think it's been suggested here by people who would know that Ajay Allen is not good at pass protection. In a game where your OL is struggling with their Blitz, and the backs habe to pick up Blitzers, they may not have felt comfortable with him back there. JMO
I do think he has looked good running when he has had a chance.
 
We actually ran a run play from the pistol formation last night. I hadn’t seen that before. Maybe I missed it earlier in the game or in a previous game. It was a decent run but obviously a different look from what we normally run with the back next to the QB.
 
The running "scheme" is complete dog****. The offense is better this year but we cant ever seem to just run a fully functional offense that fulky exploits a defense. It's ultimately on Mario one way or the other fix it.
 
Must kill Mario that he’s obsessed with physical play, has behemoths on the o line and 5 running backs and the run games mediocre. As a fan I’m used to it. Run gave has been vanilla here since I’ve been a fan.

I saw the same tendencies with Gattis, I think it’s a Mario/Mirabal thing

Been saying this for a few years now all you have to do is change the back’s and name and the uniform number…

In CF, 4.3 is bad. Should be over 5. I was hoping for over 6 which is his career average up until he ran in this offense. Regardless, we run well enough situationally, but man am I praying for some easy looks for these RBs against Cal.

We must be looking at two different teams because the Miami running game is bad...don't look strictly at number because Lyle's 91-yard TD and garbage yards have skewed the #s badly

I also think that our D has trouble with sweeps and outside runs, because we only practice against inside running v our offense. We are very susceptible on the outside ( see UF, TD called back in Va Tech, etc.

All this being said, Cam gives us a chance in every game, but I don’t think we are out- scheming or coaching anyone we play. Mario, like Ed O and Les Miles, etc just outrecruits them.

The real weakness of this team though is our Secondary, and I can’t believe Patterson, Stafford, etc are not better than Richard and Hill. If we are going to play 5 db’s on the field, we better have more talent back there.

Running backs aren’t bad. The oline is very good. But no diversity in run blocking assignments - we don’t pull or do true zone blocking where some linemen quick chip and move to 2nd level. Our spacing is really tight.

The big runs by Ajay, Fletcher and Lyle have come when they bounced it outside - and none of them looked like by design if you watch oline play.

Formation wise are we diverse? I don’t rewatch games so for those that do can see if we predominantly run out of bunch/tight formations? Also seems we always run motion into the line on runs. High probability of me just thinking they is the case.
