#1 Alabama, #2 Oregon, #3 FSU,#4 OSU

I won't be watching this farce. Between this garbage, FSU's win streak and title run, and Miami admin being a disgrace, I give up. Not worth following it anymore for me. Im done ya'll Ive had enough of this corrupt sport.

Got some major hypocrites in here.

Let's play a game....replace "TCU' with "Miami" and keep everything else constant.

Who wants to go first?

how can TCU be #3 just five days ago, win by 52 points and drop to #6?

Because everyone else beat ranked teams.

TCU was 3, won by 50 points and suddenly is not the third best team anymore? This system is obviously crooked and fixed. Just like when they were desperate to put 3 SEC teams in. It's all about money. A total disgrace.

This.

All about brand recognition. You drop the 'C' in TCU and relocate them to Austin, and they never get jumped. All about 'brand name', big $, teams, which, IMO, is what is wrong with college football.

Bull**** that OSU is in....they lost to an unranked VTech at home....Baylor and TCU both lost to quality ranked teams.

Total BS by the selection committee.

Is anyone really surprised *** and The Taint got picked for this thing over two more worthy teams? That bunch ALWAYS gets what they want, no matter what. Example: The 2003 Fiesta Bowl.

What a joke CFB has become. Last year I'm watching any of it, especially with this program being absolutely DEAD!

OSU lost to VT and EL Foldo smoke them at home. That alone should rule them out. Period

I posted this almost a month ago after the Miami loss to Florida State. Here is the edited version:

To wit:

- The game is now becoming dominated by the same schools over and over, schools with lavishly-funded athletic departments that so rule campus life that they are perceived as football teams first and universities second: Alabama, O$Uck, FSU, Nike U (Oregon), and LSU come to mind. Yes, all large state schools with no shortage of schools emulating them: Texas, Texas A&M, Georgia and so on. Even private religious universities in the South are trying to join the athletics arms race; think TCU and Baylor. They are not anywhere near academic powerhouses, so Football is their way to big $$$. A lot of schools don't have the ability or inclination to compete in these ever escalating arms race, even among power five conference members.

- The five power conferences are totally in control and the NCAA as a sanctioning body is becoming as useful to them as the United States Auto Club (USAC) became to Indy car racing. Like USAC, the NCAA is a failing organization with corrupt leaders who curry favor to remain in their positions. Like USAC was by the Indy speedway owners, the NCAA is gradually being marginalized by the power five conferences. BTW, anybody watch Indy cars anymore? How about Boxing? You know, the sport with the WBA, WBC, WBO, and IBF all trying to be the sanctioning body?

- One network, with finite resources, controls the sport. Yep, ESPiN. What FOX1, BTN, CBS and NBC's Domer coverage can bring in $$$, ESPiN trumps. After spending big $$$ for rights fees, ESPiN wants the narrative controlled to ease allied programming costs and recycle stories as needed. Yep, the games themselves are coveted, "non-DVR'ble" programming, but what if people start tuning out live repeats of the same 10-12 teams over and over? The "playoff" with its selection committee is a joke, leading to more running up the score and Conference control of officials to assure the "correct" outcomes.

- The demos are changing. Soccer is gaining ground rapidly, Mom's are forbidding sons from playing football, and there was 63,000 people watching a rugby match in Chicago at the start of the month. Sports is fracturing folks...

It was fun while it lasted, now it may die under its own weight in about ten years.

Don't believe me? Try the Washington Post

The selection committee jus gave the 1st round to Bama.... TCU or Baylor would beat Bama and TCU deserved to be 4th.

Ohio State beating Wisconsin isnt impressive but them losing to VTech at home is.

Think the aspect of it they saw was at least osu scheduled an out of conference opponent that is (traditionally) a pretty solid team. Osu could have scheduled another cupcake like tcu or Baylor did and then osu be undefeated but they didn't. Bllowing out Wisconsin def helped. Baylor schedule was worst than osu. I'm not talking about tcu bc Baylor beat tcu so imo 4 spot was between osu and Baylor. Between those two I hate to say it but I agree osu, let's remember both have one loss and a loss is a loss.

OSU is playing lights out right now. They are better than TCU and Baylor right now. Those two play no defense.

I think the committee thought TCU was #3, but didn't think they could justify it since they lost head to head with Baylor. If Baylor had another loss, TCU would be in IMO. Pretty lame how they punted here and picked OSU.
