I almost feel like it's been overlooked that Duke crossed the 1,000-yard mark last game. I know it's been discussed around here some, but that's kind of a big deal, especially for a 'Cane. Not sure what I'm expecting...more articles, or something, I don't know. But it's pretty awesome stuff.

Maybe it's because we're usually near the end of a season when one of our backs is close to the mark. I don't know. But he's having a huge season for a Miami back, historically speaking. I believe he's just the 8th 'Cane to reach that mark, right?

1000 yards is not that big of a deal anymore with 13 games a season. But Duke is definitely worth the ticket every week. He should go for a lot more than 1000. What a doggone football player!

I've got Duke as the 3rd best UM RB all-time behind Edge and Portis. JMO.

I would put him ahead of Portis. Think about Duke playing on a team with that OL and QB and other talents at the skill positions. He would've won a heisman.

Duke's only 428 yards away from Otis Anderson's all time career rushing record at Miami. Assuming Miami wins at least one more game to become bowl eligible he only needs to average 85.6 yards per game to surpass the record.

I seriously thought about putting him 2nd, but I just...couldn't.

I get it, Gore would've been the GOAT had it not been for the injuries.

I just imagine Duke running in the same offense as Portis and he would've been scary good, nothing against Portis he was a great one, Duke would've been lethal with a big time QB and other skill position players to match his talent.

Not really worried about the run game with Flowers out. V Tech had a better defense and Duke got 200+ yards up the middle on them! It was Lil Linder and Mongo (Feliciano) get the push inside for the run game. But cant lie, it would still be nice to have him.

Sucks that he's going to wind up being the Edgerrin James of this era at best.

Canes fans know what the deal is, but the country won't ever truly know how special dude was.

I'd put Duke tied with Edge right now for 1st. Portis was running behind great O lines and stacked teams.

Best average per carry of all our heralded backs at UM? Yea Duke Johnson
