09/25 QB Rotation

Apparently everybody but you knew Tag was going to be the starter week one. Not one person ever said they thought Hurts would start. But apparently you couldn't figure it out. However, that situation is not the same as Miami. That was leading up to game 1 and they were still "fighting" it out in camp. Not once did the football world expect Hurts to line up under center against Louisville. Even Hurts knew he wasn't going to be the starter. That is why he became a little sissy in fall camp.

This is the first week that Dabo mentioned Lawrence as the starter BECAUSE Bryant was the starter and everybody knew it. Lawrence played off the bench in those games. Now that Lawrence is the starter you don't see Dabo keeping it quiet that Lawrence is going to start. There's nothing tangible gained by playing these pop warner games. It gives Miami zero advantage when the ball is kicked. UNC isn't going to change their defensive game plan based off of who goes under center.
IF there’s no advantage to withholding the name of the starter, then what is the advantage to announcing publicly the name of the starter?

I literally quoted both ESPN and Saban saying that leading up to game 1, Alabama was ambivalent towards the QB situation, just because all of Twitter knew it doesn’t mean that it was a certainty, and when I said Dabo played off an uncertain facade towards the QB situation, I never said that his original plan wasn’t to start Lawrence all along, I said Tht Dabo was ambivalent towards the QB situation because if Lawrence plays more than 4 games, he burns his RS, which will likely be the case now because he helped them win against Syracuse. I don’t understand how some of you guys in the Fanbase think you know more than coaches who’ve been studying film for years, if Richt believes that UNC is going to study Perry therefore giving Rosier reps with the 1s for the 15 mins of media exposure than f*** it, because Perry isn’t the most polished QB, he can b studied, however it’s a fact that coaches change their entire gameplan based off of who lines up behind center, UNC isn’t going to stack up the box and force Perry to beat them with his arm, like they would do with Rosier.

This is literally a case of someone desperately trying to find something to ***** about.

Richt trolling UNC and all us fans. Sabag does it and he's a mastermind. Richt does it and many think he's off his rocker.

I see a distinct advantage to both getting QB1 reps. No one knows for sure that another QB has gotten QB1 reps all along.

Richt may very well start Perry to see how he handles being the "starter". But, if Perry struggles, than he has an option that has had QB1 reps regardless of what that option may be.

Because it makes him look bush league this far into the season. That's why Dabo shts on Richt. Dabo had no issues showing his feelings while Richt is either playing pacifier to Malik or thinks he is giving the team some unknown advantage.

What are you talking about? Lawrence was never going to redshirt. He was always destined to take the job from Kelly this year. Again, everybody saw it coming, other than you apparently. The difference is that Dabo isn't playing little league games by not naming him the starter, and according to you, forcing teams to game plan for both. Dabo is playing for national titles while Richt is trying to gain an advantage over a sht team while not naming his starter in week 5.

UNC won't have a different game plan for Mailk or Perry. Neither one is much of a passer at this point. That would be the case for Kelly and Lawrence or Hurts and Tua.

You keep saying everyone, who’s everyone? Just because all of Twitter, ESPN, and CFB saw it coming doesn’t mean that Dabo wasn’t ambivalent towards the QB situation. If it was Lawrence job to begin with, why didn’t Dabo name him the starter week 1? Why did Kelly Bryant start against an FCS school Furman? Why did it take 3 weeks to name Lawrence the starter if he was for sure the starter? If you think Dabo is that one dimensional you’re asinine, truth of the matter is that Clemson is good enough to win the ACC with whom ever under center, the ACC is weak rn and they return 8 starters, their defense alone guarantees 10 wins, if you think Dabo wasn’t going to use that 4 game RS rule, I don’t know what to tell you. Saban had no choice last season with Tua and he doesn’t have a choice this season because Jalen hurts is an incompetent QB, Tua gives them the best chance to win in a loaded SEC. Dabo thought he could ride with kelly all the way to the ACC championship, get Lawrence in there for 4 games and let that be the end all, obviously it didn’t work that way.... I also told you why having UNC off balance is essential for strategic game planning, right now they’re 1-2, their season is over, they want to play spoiler, on a short week, primetime game which is why it’s a trap game, it’s not about playing for a championship or gaining advantage, it’s about not underestimating your opponent and ending up like VT vs OD, or Clemson vs Syracuse last year, if we lose 1 more game we’re out of CFB playoff contention. I’m also going to ignore your last statement because clearly you haven’t watched Perry throw. He’s as much of a passer as Tua and a better passer than Hurts or Kelly, he may not be as Polished as Lawrence but he has his own high ceiling when it comes to passing.

It amazes how many things you write that you pass off as fact concerning Dabo and what he thinks. Go back to reading your college football wizards magazine.

If Miami is at the point that they need a competitive edge over UNC then Miami is in much worse shape than previously thought at 33-3.

If you think Lawrence was going to redshirt, or that it was possible, then your magazine is failing you. There's not one person on this site that would agree with that ridiculous idea.

Miami isn't good enough yet to qualify for "trap game" status.

Can’t argue with this logic, folks.

FIRE RICHT!!!

“don’t think now is the time to even think about that. You’re trying to prepare all four of them because it’s that close of a race that any one of those guys could end up being the guy,” Elliott said. “Kelly is obviously the guy now but any of the other three could end up being that guy” - Clemson OC Tony Elliot before the start of week one

Funny how all of the facts line up with everything I am saying, **** that magazine must be accurate as ****, you still didn’t answer any of my questions, Why did kelly Bryant start against Furman? Why wasn’t Lawrence named the starter week 1? If Dabo was going to make Lawrence the starter all along he would’ve done it week 1 not wait 4 weeks into the season... Also Funny how you can oversimplify something that coaches like Richt and Brown who have a combined 23 years of coaching experience, can’t oversimplify, if CMR doesn’t want to reveal who the starter is in hopes that it gives an edge in game planning and film study, then F*** it, you know it isn’t like he’s coached 15 seasons in the SEC against Saban or nothing

Yea just like VT didn’t think they needed a competitive edge against OD right? Or what about when the 6-0 Clemson Tigers thought they didn’t need a competitive edge against 4-2 Syracuse, yet Syracuse beat them last season, In CFB upsets and Trap games happen, and Miami cannot afford the luxury to underestimate any of their opponents on their schedule.

You’ve convinced me with that sound logic.

Don't know why people around here read a media article and just scream oh my what are we going to do.especially with all the fake news floating around.I guess you all would believe it if i was a media outlet and said there's zombies outside your door waiting to eat your dumb a$$ you'd all dial 911 and dirty your pants. ,

This is one of those situations where Richt thinks he's outsmarting the opponent but in reality is only making himself look stupid/foolish in the process. Play the qb who gives you the best chance to win. From last week's results it's quite clear that qb is Perry. Stop trying to reinvent the f****g wheel Richt!!

The entire country is talking about how stupid Mark Richt looked because Rosier handed off to running backs a few times during practice.
