Is not very good.
Misses tackles regularly and does not come downhill like you would expect a safety of his size to do.

Obviously we don’t have many options, but he needs to improve significantly

I think it’s a technique thing with James. He is 6’5 and his tackles mostly happen out in space and more often than not he is tackling smaller guys. He frequently loses to the lower man wins principle and gives up an extra 2-3 yards. He also relies on his elite god given wing span to cover up what appears to me to be a little bit sloppy footwork. So again he is not squaring up the offensive player as well as he could be and at times gives up extra yards because of it.
