🚨🚨Official Miami-FSU Week Thread🚨🚨

So, I've been feeling and saying that this is gonna be a dogfight, lots of blood and ripped out clumps of hair, etc. But starting yesterday and going into today, I actually think that we're going to dominate it, regardless of whether or not the final score reflects it.

My only caution is the usual equalizer when two rivals play and one happens to be stronger than the other one - turn overs.

A positive example would be when we beat the Gaytors a few years back and it was made possible via 5 turnovers we gained from the lizards. Truth is, that Gaytor team was more solid and deeper than us that year, BUT, we forced/were-given 5 TO's and it enabled us to eek by.

God forbid, but if we start coughing up the ball, the Noles have the explosiveness on O to take advantage, get momentum playing at home, and even win the game handily.

Not to jinx it, but we have been very good with ball-security this year. If we are no more than 2 TO in the negative, we should win. If we are even on turnover ratio, I genuinely believe we will dominate the game even if the final score is something like 24-28 Canes.

I'll go on record: Nolies 23 - Canes 31. And, the final score will not reflect how much we controlled the game.

Just play clean. Play clean, and they won't beat us.

No bobbled snaps, no blocked kicks, no dropped punts, no fumbles....I can live with 1 pick if we throw the ball down the field. No presnap penalties, no passive penalties on defense.

I don't expect perfection, but just do the little things correctly. Run, block, tackle. We have the far superior roster.

I have the CANES winning a close game. Forget about FSU's performance last week. They will be home with a crazy loud crowd and anything can happen. This is a rivalry game and we know since Mario has been here his away recond is 7-14. I hope that changes to the postive side this week. GO CANES and Hit Castellanos Hard and Often!

this is why this game will always be a battle... Desir was a low 3* (maybe high 3* by the end of the cycle, idk) but had a lackluster offer list and played at Miami Norland. I dont think Miami even offered him. He has a chip on his shoulder because of that and is going to play his *** off against us and in front of his folks.

A 3* True Freshman at a grown man position is going to be the difference maker?

I'd be surprised.

I doubt difference maker, never said that, just that he will probably play the best game of his season against us because he has extra built-in motivation where if he was some 3* from dallas he would not give .02 about playing miami,

Don't disagree, but what do you think is the reason they were able to beat a talented team like Bama?

He's also a 260 pound freshman playing DT.

They are outmatched on the field. That said, first road game for us, prime time night game, etc., makes me think this will be a struggle. I'm envisioning a tight first half (maybe 10-10) but we eventually pull away in the 4th to make it 23-13 or 28-17 or something.

Because Bama can’t run the ball or stop the run and Simpson was wide-eyed. Bama didn’t turn the ball over once IIRC. They did have a couple big penalties though.

But to me, Bama can only win one way. Simpson has to be really on his game. They have no run game. Their front is not a typical Bama front. They’re much more of a finesse team now. And I think a team who can run the ball well and who has a quirky offense like FSU is a bad match-up for them.

Just like all those guys on the gators who grew up around south Florida and balled out against us. I forgot that didn’t happen… this makes for a cool story though

That’s every kid from the Miami area with a grudge about not getting an offer…

Playing the #3 team in the country in a rivalry game coming off a loss… that entire team is gonna play its *** off it’s not shocking. Same as ND, USF, and Florida we’ve seen teams coming in with their Super Bowl mentality before…
