“Rumph Saw the Sports Psychologist at Miami....

I wonder what goes on behind the scenes in terms of process an training. Do these guys generally just wing it and the good recruiters are naturally good at it? My guess would be that happens a lot of places but programs like bama probably use big company resources around sales process and training. My guess is that Manny embraces that kind of science.

If Manny keeps running his style of D, recruiting on defense is going to sell itself. Rumph has arguably been the best developer of players on our entire staff. The results (especially corn and MJ) speak for itself. I'll take that all day, especially with all the young potential we already have in the secondary.

and talked to Manny extensively about how to improve his recruiting.”

If true, at least he knows he needs to get better in that arena. Hopefully, landing Williams is the first step towards meaningful change.

His name is Rumph. He's a Miami alum and a first-round draft choice. Learn how to spell his name.

It’s “The Orange Bowl Boys”, as in dudes who grew up in the OB. Best Canes podcast there is and it’s not close, no disrespect to CIS pod, which is second and there is no third, but the two pods do different things.

Solid joke either way, but if you haven’t checked out OBB yet, do yourself a favor and tune in.

Love that podcast. The new episode enlightened me to know that nine of our defensive backs are four star players. They way people talk about Banda/Rumph recruiting, I don’t know why I assumed we had all two star guys back there 😂

All that because the American Heritage Flakes didn't want to come here LMAO

that is what it really comes down to. The fact that Rumph went after the 5 largest recruits the past couple of years and neglected the next 10 plan B kids in the process is what happens thus leaving you with your plan C kids. Is it better to neglect the 5 star kids every year and give more love to an Elem or Davis?

If Rumph were a 27 year old assistant getting started I do not think he would be expected to bring in the big catch. the plan B kids would have been welcomed. The fact that he let the 5 star guys play Miami until the very end was what brought heat to him. Smoke those kids out in the summer and people do not have the expectation.

Those 5 star kids had no intention of coming to Miami in the state the program is in. No other coach was going to be able to bring them in. What are we really mad at Rumph about?

Also, if we are claiming bags are dropped and some are claiming we do not drop bags like SEC then why again would Rumph or anyone be expected to overcome that for these 5 stars kids?

So do we expect Rumph to go after Gary Henry or do we want him to skip the kid and go after the Plan b kids who Miami can afford?
