Saban said this on GameDay yesterday as to why he used to get so ****ed when they were up big and started playing poorly. That due was go off on the sidelines up 30-40 points on coaches and players. I really think that was us Friday night after being up so much. Do we have things to clean up, yes. It’s a new team basically with vets mixed in and they are growing up.

Need to find the alphas who can lead the defense. I know Toure seems to be one and I guess Moten but need someone like a Keionte to set the aggression tone.

On offense, we just have to be done with the interior OL trio we have right now. If Cantwell CAN play tackle move McCoy inside to help because it’s a significant weakness for us.

I’m not sure what happened to Mensah in the second half I am assuming he was nursing something that just made him look that different but that was inexcusable. Wake Forest has what 2 players who would start for this team? Can’t look that inept on offense for an entire half again.

I remember a game where Alabama was up by 5-6 tds in the third quarter when the opponent went down the field and capped off drive with a TD. They showed Saban chewing out a couple of backup DBs who blew several coverages during that drive. It wasn't pretty. It got the attention of the other coaches and players.

In contrast I was at the UM-Temple game in 2002, where we were outclassing the Owls but we got very sloppy late in the game. There was even one play where the Owls' Dan Klecko sacked our QB and our OLine on the field had a good laugh. I did not like that reaction from our guys.

The 3 guys in the middle of the OL are going to make or break this teams chance at winning another title.

Sj is straight up terrible and has no ideal who to block.

Rodriguez graded as our worse run blocker

Buchanan is just average at this point of the season.

Wake switched it up on them and they had no answers for it.

Not to sound like a smart a$$, but if Cantwell could play tackle right now, he would.
Agree with you that IOL was terrible and it seemed to scare our coaches, if not our QB.

I'm not sure why they try moving OL for different drives.
Flip Okunlola to RT and put McCoy at RG and throw in Cantwell or someone else at LT with Buchanon at LG, just for a series.
Then run right behind the right side, and pull the LG over.
That's similar to last year's strategy (not the player movement but the play call) and everyone knew we were running behind Copper and CiCi.
Then the next series put them on the Left side to keep the DC on his toes.

Just TRY things! Why not?
Not sure why professionals can't thinknof.these things.
Stop coaching not to lose and start showing you can coach your *** off.
If they tried that everyone would see the effort and attempts plus it would give some juice to the 6 or 7th linemen to really work harder to get on the field.

OK fine but didn’t he play the entire summer at tackle and we were told he was never giving up that spot lol against ‘elite’ DEs?

Hear, hear.

I don’t think you flip Samson. I think you leave Samson at LT and move McCoy back to LG. I think you go youth on the right side. Put Cantwell at RT, have Congdon at RG. A strong side and a weak youthful side. Allow that right side to grow through the reps. Bring the TE and/ or the RB to the side to help. QB knows the side to trust and the side to monitor. When the pressure comes from the.l middle and you don’t move the pocket much it’s just a tougher assignment.

I recall this as well.
Maybe he's not 100 percent physically?
Sounds like lies if you ask me. He definitely plays way too upright. Now that is more of a problem at G then T. However his technique is raw and needs works. So I am seriously doubting any talk that he was a shoe in at starting T.

Sure man.

I didn't put in much thought into it was giving an example.

I'm glad you subjectively corrected a hypothetical scenario that will never happen, without acknowledging the actual point of the post.
