I am of the opinion that a Bama and BYU loss is best case scenario for us especially because of the common opponent is FSU with Bama.

I don’t believe the committee will take Miami over ND. Obviously that is the most obvious scenario for putting us in.

BYU has to lose . A Bama win would help , maybe a close Bama loss . Bama is in regardless but they want some separation between Miami and ND next week . It went from being in the same group to just having any separation.

This. The committee has been moving the goal posts trying to avoid Miami vs ND. Their biggest fear is what you mentioned. If that happens they’re in a corner . The odds are still in the committees favor but they’re shrinking.

At this point root for a Bama win. Big BYU loss SHOULD help us (not sure I trust them) but worst case BYU wins and boots ND. That would be satisfying if we’re out regardless.

I don’t trust them either but if everything breaks our way they’re forced to do what they’ve been avoiding. That said we haven’t caught a break yet.

Like, not a single **** break. In games or rankings. Can’t remember a time every single game went against us 3 weeks in a row.

If Bama took care of OU all of this is likely moot.

Agreed. But for the first time, I like our chances.

Texas Tech will beat BYU. Hopefully by a lot.

Bama is only 2 pt underdogs to UGA. They can win this game.

We’re not praying that ****** teams win against good teams anymore. We’re in the driver’s seat.

Y'all are tripping. They moved Alabama up on purpose so if they lose the SEC Championship they sandwich between us and ND. They're padding bama a ranking bump to assure they stay in over us.

If BYU loses by three + touchdowns, you think they are keeping them in the same exact spot?
 
Don't do this to yourselves. We're out. They're building drama and clicks. It won't matter how many tallking heads yell that we deserved to be in, they're not doing it. We had a very good season that was very close to being great. We all know how this story ends.

If Bama and us are next to each other the committee could look at common opponents as a tie breaker. Wouldn't it be ironic if F$U helps puts us in over the Tide.

Correct!

I held the position of BYU losing and Bama losing convincingly vs Georgia should knock Bama out and then you have ND and Miami in, which is what should happen anyway.

Now they have protected Bama in case they lose. That dude on TV saying that Bama winning vs Auburn was a good win and thus why they should move ahead of ND makes no sense in any way whatsoever, especially with the metrics. It’s ridiculous!

They are protecting the SEC so this forces only one viable option for Miami now as even if Bama loses, ND moves up and Bama slips to 10 (obviously assuming BYU loses, which they will). Miami would move up from 12 to 11, hence it covers their “idle teams can move up or down” narrative.

It’s over! Miami is not being selected over ND if both Bama wins and BYU loses.

I hope to God I would be wrong if that final scenario plays out but I will believe it when I see it.

It won’t matter. Even if they do, they won’t move Miami over ND. If they are not counting the head to head now, they are never going to.
They are just kicking the can further down the road because of the outrage and they will continue to move the goal post to keep ND in.
They have shown you who they are, believe them.

They will not fall behind ND for losing in the SEC championship. On average, conference championship losers drop 2 spots. They would have to drop 6 to be behind ND. Won’t happen.
