Georgia struggles vs bama. Realistically so we can prevent bama dropping to 10 if they lose. Need bama to gut this win out and then Texas tech to beat byu and then our head to head will come into play

In theory but I just don’t believe they care at this point and will give us a giant middle finger if this played out. Would love to be proven wrong but this script is clearly written.

If we’re right next to ND, they will honor the head to head. They didn’t do it this week because it would have meant we jumped BYU, which would have been a bad look. They are waiting for BYU to lose.

Bama over UGA. Would prevent ND from moving up with a Bama loss.

UNLV over Boise. Hurts ND’s strength of schedule.

Duke over Virginia. No ACC teams get in, which helps our case.

Because if BYU wins, they’re in and Notre Dame is out. Period.

If BYU loses Miami Notre Dame are right next to each other and the committee may be forced to flip them. I believe there is a lot of public heat on them and the games have to count. Otherwise, what are we doing?

I say that, but I’m still extremely skeptical, but this move was a move to stay in front of it by the committee in my opinion and Senki must pull all the strings in college football and he’s protecting the SEC

As you guys know, I’ve got a daughter at Ole Miss and I can’t believe they moved up when Losing Ln., Kiffin how the **** does that make sense lol

We were told we needed to win out convincingly in November to be in.

We did that and the goalposts move again.

I'm genuinely confused here. If Bama and BYU lose, wouldn't Miami move ahead of both? Bama would have 3 losses including an ugly loss to FSU who Miami beat - and far worse than any loss Miami had. I get that Bama would be the SEC runner-up, but is there truly no shot Miami would get in ahead of a 3-loss Bama team? Just trying to gauge if I'm crazy for having hope or reading the situation wrong.

Why do we want Bama to beat UGa?.. we should be in as long as BYU loses regardless of the other scenarios.
 
The proper way to view this is that it’s all a transparent attempt to protect the SEC by locking in its 4 at-large bids, giving it as many home games as possible, and giving it the best odds to get at least 1 team in the finals. The SEC is now guaranteed 4/7 at large bids.

There is absolutely no justification for moving Alabama past ND when it won on a late, penalty aided drive against a 1-7 SEC team with no coach. Alabama was moved up solely to lock it in even if it loses to Georgia. And now ND bears 100% of the risk of a BYU upset as well. There is no outcome next weekend that can push an SEC team out.

Mission accomplished for the committee. And major bonus is they got Miami and now possibly ND out of way for the SEC as well.

Surprised Reese held his feet to the fire. Maybe he just wants to ensure they get viewers next week.

Yeah maybe I’m delusional but I think that could be the idea. If next to each other in seeding, committee will use H2H. They cant plausibly say we aren’t comparable if it’s 10-11. If that was still the plan to say we’re too far apart for H2H , they would have moved another team into the 12 spot and dropped us out.
