“Football hasn’t changed…

Context matters. In the interview - might want to listen to it - Don Bailey was referring to it being week 9 and everyone across the country is tired and beat up. Mario’s “200 years” comment was in response to Bailey’s remark and was a bit of an exaggeration on his part.

Agree completely. I like Mario and his ability to break football down to fundamentals… our teams have suffered from poor fundamentals… but his statement took it a bit too far to a level that I found to be funny. I imagine he know full well that football has changed a lot in the past 20 years, much less 200 years 🙂.

He’s right.

There’s NOTHING new in football. Zilch.

Anyone who thinks there is, doesn’t truly know the game. Show me someone who thinks they invented something “new” and I’ll show you someone who is stupid enough to eat their own as*crack
I’ve gotten ribs removed and still can’t each my *** crack but I have tried

Shhhh. Doesn’t fit narrative, no context please.

Go back 25 years and look at every national champion and you’ll see a squad that just beat everyone up. There’s a couple of exceptions in there but probably 85%+ were stronger than everyone else in the trenches. That aspect of the game hasn’t changed.

I was going to say something to help with this but I’m not getting involved I’m smoked out.
