Context matters. In the interview - might want to listen to it - Don Bailey was referring to it being week 9 and everyone across the country is tired and beat up. Mario’s “200 years” comment was in response to Bailey’s remark and was a bit of an exaggeration on his part.

Agree completely. I like Mario and his ability to break football down to fundamentals… our teams have suffered from poor fundamentals… but his statement took it a bit too far to a level that I found to be funny. I imagine he know full well that football has changed a lot in the past 20 years, much less 200 years 🙂.

Shhhh. Doesn’t fit narrative, no context please.
 
Go back 25 years and look at every national champion and you’ll see a squad that just beat everyone up. There’s a couple of exceptions in there but probably 85%+ were stronger than everyone else in the trenches. That aspect of the game hasn’t changed.
