I’m seeing this being said a lot in regards to our QB recruiting so I’m just gonna list out the players Miami has brought in on defense since Mario arrived. Not moping or throwing in the towel but I think it’s important to look at history

Our talent evaluations on D especially in the secondary have been awful overall. I think part of it is Guidry too.

Yeah I’m not saying we can’t do better or won’t, but it’s hard to just say these things as we are quickly finding out we are still not a destination for many of these guys

And the only reason I say it is because there’s a theory that if we miss on some QBs we can just fix the other side of the ball. I agree with it, just not sure we can do it but we will see

Everything on defense is puzzling and has been since day 1. I've just accepted it as the norm and will take a miracle to fix at this point.

I also am interested to see what mario does with Guidry and the D staff. Maybe that could affect our ability to bring some portal guys in? I don't know but until some changes are made, I am concerned.

He got hurt at some point - don't know / guess it was in practice

might even been before the season or super early on because Robby took his jersey # when he moved to defense this year.

he was supposed to be 28 and i believe he had a shoulder issue was reported somewhere.

Alot of this has to do with how the young men perceive the program. Coming off a 10 win season that has to account for something.

We will see. I didn’t like the excuses for our recruiting class being “we will fix it in the portal” because the portal was gonna be a bloodbath

Plus as bad as our defense was we are losing our best player there as well at a mega premium position. Just replacing Barrow and what we had last year was gonna be a tall task

Valid points. In regards to recruiting high school these young men today don't trust Miami as a program, so they look for every excuse not to come. It's on us to get over the hump by consistently winning.
