What’s King’s injury?
They've been hiding as "upper body." He left the game for at least a series (could have been more, I just can't remember). He didn't play vs. ND or VT.

Speculation from all angles is that it's a shoulder injury of some kind (unclear whether throwing or non).

If he plays, we MUST get home and put him in the ground.

The secondary made the most amount of good plays of any game of the season today.

Multiple pass breakups. Nice plays. Got 3 INTs and dropped at least one other. Some hard hits.

They're capable of playing. They're not being coached up the right way. The defensive line needs to get home and disrupt the QB. Not just generate "pressures" which looks great on paper but have no impact on the game.

I'm watching Jarred Harrison-Hunte on SMU get sacks against Pitt.

Coaches need to stop being cute and do what's right.

Biggest saving grace against GT is the fact that they try to run right at you. To a stubborn extent.
They want to be a classic Big Ten offense.

Our defense is probably best suited to stop that.

I'm sorry but if we're losing a game it's not going to be next weekend

no way we lose to GT after last year's meltdown

Line is down to Miami -12.5 -115. The ML odds of -500/+375 equates to Vegas giving us a no-vig 79.83% chance to win the game. For frame of reference, Indiana is also -12.5 at home against Michigan.

Expected imo. Total down a point is interesting, if King is in I expect this spread to inch closer to 10. If he’s out, it’ll go back up across the key # of 13 into the opening-line range again.

A lot of uncertainty for now.

We’ll score a ton.

They’ll score a lot, but not enough.

We’ll push the gas down on offense enough to win by 2 scores as long as we don’t gift them points.

I said all week if we win the turnover battle against Duke, we win by 3 scores. We did, and we did. It look a little bit, but football games are 60 minutes long. We pressure your defense for all 60.

This game is the same for me. If we win the turnover battle, we win by 2 scores.

I’m assuming King plays. Their offense isn’t great. It’s probably a little above average with him. But our defense is probably a little below average. So they’ll score 30 on us. I think we score 40+ on them. Hold onto your butts again, I think we pretty much are who we are at this point. 42-31 win for the good guys. Just don’t give them anything easy. The defense will do enough of that on its own.

I guess there is a storm coming thru or something, weather went from clear to alot of rain.. maybe thats the reason, not sure..

From the Thursday pre Miami press conference:

Haynes King – He is still day to day. "I am hopeful we get him back for Miami. I hope by next Wednesday or Thursday it will be a little clearer." By holding him out against VT, they were looking at the bye week to be a built-in buffer." Key hopes to give a little more info next Tuesday.

Guess we will know for sure by Tuesday...

He’s going to play. They used the bye week to get him the extra rest that he needed.

I doubt he will be 100%, but he will be better than the other two guys they have trotted out there.

Regardless, don’t expect to know until kick off. It would be stupid of GT to show their hand.

What’s funny is most of the good plays came from two true freshman that they decided to try and pick on… Oj and ZP. They were making plays and showing the opposing teams they needed to stick with picking on Richard’s, hill or Harris

Wake we handle easily. GT and Syracuse are very losable games. GT's been a bit unlucky in a couple (like VT, like Cal), or their record would be a lot better.

We can outscore both, but little room for error. More of the same, in other words.

if he’s really day to day with a shoulder injury, defensive game plan should be simple. Blitz early and often. Play Zone on the backend so he doesn’t have easy reads. No 10 yard cushions. Make him leave the pocket , even if he completes the pass make sure to hit him hard. He won’t make it through the first quarter.

I think Bain makes his presence felt again. He hasn’t been getting as much pressure lately, but knowing the GT QB has a bad shoulder is going to get him going.
