Receiver Allen Hurns is turning out to be one of the better bargain finds in the NFL. He's certainly already established himself as one of the best undrafted players in Jaguars history.

Hurns' five touchdowns are tied with Matt Jones and Justin Blackmon for most by a rookie receiver in team history and he has seven games remaining to break the record. He also sits atop the team charts for most receiving yards in a single season by an undrafted player (466) and most touchdowns in a single season by an undrafted player.

Hurns has 29 catches for 466 yards and five touchdowns. Within the next several weeks he can take over top spots on several charts. He needs:

- Four receptions to move into first place on the list of most receptions by an undrafted player in a single season in team history
- Eleven receptions to move into first place on the list of most career receptions by an undrafted player in team history.
- Sixty-nine receiving yards to move into first place on the list of most receiving yards by an undrafted player in team history.

Hurns is second among all rookie receivers in the NFL in average per catch (16.1) and receptions of 20 or more yards (nine, tied with Carolina's Kelvin Benjamin and Buffalo's Sammy Watkins). Cleveland's Taylor Gabriel has the best per-catch average among rookies (19.2) and Tampa Bay's Mike Evans has the most catches of at least 20 yards (10).

Stephen Morris is why

No, that's dumb. Even with Morris, he put up great numbers last year. He was only the 4th WR in Miami history to have over 1,000 yards, with 1,162 on 62 catches (18.4 ypc) and 6 TD. I know it's cute to rip Morris because he sucked (sucks), but this time, it makes no sense. Hurns should have been drafted.

Hurns didn't get much love from Canes fans nor from this board. Stacy Coley got a lot more hype in his freshman year making Hurns all but invisible. Hurns is unspectacular, but brutally efficient and that combo of qualities won't get you press in the college game. Speed is ****, Hurns was not.

Smh..that has nothing to do with it..... Scouts didnt.like his height 6'1 1/2 and weight 205 plus his 4.55 forty..... they cared more about measurements than anything... Hurns should have been no later than 3rd Round....

This has become the norm with miami players, under perform while at the U and explode when they get to the nfl.

Not sure this is the case with Hurns... he had one of the best season of any WR at U last year. He just doesn't look impressive but gets the job done.

This, kid had one of the best seasons statistically in UM history. A school that has sent guys like M. Irvin, S. Moss, R. Wayne, and A. Johnson to the league.

Seems it's become the norm that some posters don't know crap about 'Canes football, or football in general, and then post nonsense to attack the program. Hurns was not even close to our most highly touted WR recruit, yet left the program as one of the best WRs statistically in 'Canes history. So find a different example to attack the program, because this one isn't working.

I guess he should have broken the 1,000 yard mark in 2011 and 2012 as well.

Wow, you are dead wrong. 3rd best season for a wide receiver in school history. 7th on all-time receiving list. 2nd team all-conference his senior season. He was a darn good player at Miami.

Maybe give the staff some credit for coaching up a complete player. Look at Phillip Dorsett, that kid is becoming a complete receiver. He's blocking is outstanding.

Some of you never miss a chance to slurp. Im sure none of the credit goes to Shannon who recruited this kid and stuck with him when he had a broken ankle all his Sr year at Carol City. He left Golden nothing but jags. Golden the saviour
