One reason our players make bad NFL decisions

How do you not see it? If you're slated to be a 1st round pick and you come back, a serious injury could derail that. You're taking an unnecessary gamble. In Norton and McIntosh, you have the opportunity to improve.

Yeah, in Yearby's case it made absolutely zero sense for him to leave. Yet, you'll still see people defend it to this day, regardless of him not even making a practice squad and not being able to complete his degree at Miami.

Difference between a 3rd/4th round pick is team's are willing to have more patience with you given the investment level. Look at Reuben Foster on the 49ers, he's still currently on the roster despite felony charges because the 49ers invested a late 1st round pick in him. If he was a 5th round...

No one's complaining because we all knew at the time Walton got injured that he wasn't playing another down at Miami again because when the iron is hot for a RB, you have to strike given their short shelf life. Skill position players are far different than linemen.

Well, not everyone knows this. Because we still have people actually defending their decision.

One reason our players make bad NFL decisions

Ummmmmmm.....no. If a guy like Christian Wilkins who would've likely gone in the 1st round this year tears an ACL, I'm willing to bet that he's not going in the 1st round next year. Also, if you have a significant lack of production compared to your junior year, that's also another black mark...

We'll see. We thought the same would happen with the class that left early (Golden's first year) with guys like Olivier Vernon, Tommy Streeter, Brandon Washington, etc. But we see it continue to happen. Maybe this is another reminder.

One reason our players make bad NFL decisions

Oh, I agree with you. Shaq's been good, as has Pinckney, but neither played up to what Perryman did during his time year. That, and NFL staffs saw he was playing in a defense that limited him as well. I think Shaq has an opportunity at a 1st/2nd round selection if he takes it to the next level...

One reason our players make bad NFL decisions

It's never a good thing. Clemson's entire d-line is stocked with guys that respectively at worst would've been 2nd round picks had they declared early. Every single one of them came back. Meanwhile, Norton had some sleazy salesman pitch him on leaving early and RJ followed because he was worried...

One reason our players make bad NFL decisions

That's great and all. But of the 256 players that get drafted, not even 10% of those guys make it to their 2nd contracts. And if you're a day 3 pick (4th round or later), the odds are that much worst.

One reason our players make bad NFL decisions

Pinckney's play is day 1/2 draft potential. But as you've said, a lot of teams are going to see the way he treats his body as a major red flag. Not taking care of your body in the NFL leads to more injuries and a shortened career. I don't think Homer's a top 3 round draft pick (he's close and...

This is more accurate than funny. And anyone that tries to rationalize with Norton leaving early (ie - you don't know his financial situation, he wouldn't have done much better, etc.) just needs to stfu.
