    The case for Dan Enos

I think so, and said so from Day 1. Tempo, spacing, heavy RPO, heavy read-option. For us to run anything else is just dumb.

    The case for Dan Enos

To be fair, the analytics don't like anything about Enos. He's had one offense rankly highly in the S&P+. And the offense he wants to run is the complete opposite of what a site like Football Outsiders says you should run in college. Enos isn't somebody the analytic nerds would be in favor...

    The case for Dan Enos

Everybody needs to use the Dan Enos threads as a guideline going forward. We all now know who to listen to when they talk football. And who not to listen to when they talk football. Who is merely a propagandist for the Ministry of Disinformation, and who is actually a freedom fighter trying...

    The case for Dan Enos

Nobody is arguing that. All we can do is judge the hire today by saying, "do these concepts lend themselves to offensive success?" And not offensive success if we just have 4* and 5* players across the board. But is it a scheme that's constantly putting pressure on the defense? We don't...

    The case for Dan Enos

Taggart is exactly why we should fear the hire. Read the OP. His point is if Manny wants Enos to do certain things, Enos will do them, even if it's not what Enos naturally wants to do. But that's exactly what happened to Taggart. Taggart was not running the "Gulf Coast" offense until...

    The case for Dan Enos

Not really. Taggart was an offensive minded coach, but NOBODY considered him an offensive genius that had this offensive philosophy you wanted to get a piece of. Taggart didn't adopt the "Gulf Coast" until 2015-2016-ish. Before then he was running a completely different offensive system...

    The case for Dan Enos

When did Taggart ever become regarded as some great offensive genius? Who is the Taggart coaching tree that everybody wants to hire from being the Taggart offense produces at such a "plug and play" level? Taggart's offense was so bad, he basically had to ditch it and try to learn another...

    The case for Dan Enos

I really don't understand how anybody can read that and be excited. The entire premise of that article is that their OL was SO dominant, that it allowed them to bully teams, and then take advantage of teams being forced to commit to stopping this juggernaut of an OL by easy play action. That...

    The case for Dan Enos

God save us from that scheme if we don't have that OL. Look at what they are doing in that video. It's straight under center, fullback, ground and pound and use play action to suck in the defense because the running game is so dominant.

    The case for Dan Enos

To some extent that's true. But the BEST OCs are the ones that run an offensive system that is basically plug and play. Because it uses such innovative concepts and isn't asking much of the players.

    The case for Dan Enos

I just want to be able to score points. If that meant the RBs never touching the football, that's fine with me.

    The case for Dan Enos

But you're basing your satisfaction with hiring Enos, based on, in part, Kirby Smart wanting him. Meaning you have to like Smart's judgement of offensive schemes. Smart's 3 Choices are: 1. Chaney. 2. Enos. 3. Coley How many of them would you be happy with?

    The case for Dan Enos

You don't understand why our fans want to play offense like the offenses that score a lot of points? Is that a real question?

    The case for Dan Enos

If Miami had hired Chaney from Smart, would you be happy right now? If Miami had hired Coley, would you be happy?

    The case for Dan Enos

Sure, but you can do that with anybody. "Hey, I'm going to hire you, but this is what I want you to do. Now go do it." The problem is we are all hoping this 50 year old CAN do it. He can adapt more modern concepts into his offense, because we don't have the overall talent to make his...

    The case for Dan Enos

No, people are mad that he doesn't run the scheme Miami fans envisioned. Even those supporting the hire are at least conceding that point.
  19. mossmadness

    The case for Dan Enos

It's just odd to hire somebody to do something he doesn't naturally want to do. His offenses aren't running a ton of pre-snap horizontal motion along the line. They aren't running tempo. We're basically going to have our defensive minded coach force our OC to do what he naturally doesn't...
