Maybe I researched the wrong Frank Martin, but in 14 years (excluding cancelled COVID yr) as a Head Coach anywhere, he had 5 NCAAT appearances and 2 N.I.T.... You can "bizzarro" and "good lord" away,, but If thats NOT "roughly" similar credentials, well, there's no sense discussing with a...

FRANKLY speaking, Not that anyone's asking, but FRANK Haith resigned at Tulsa today after 8 seasons there. Well, one year he did take us to 2nd round NCAA, LOL.

my choice for laziest (feasible) would be Caputo (and Im definitely NOT recommending him)... Frank Martin has roughly the same credentials as Coach L, and of course the Miami "ties". And is a bit younger. But (and I'm not trying to start more debate about retaining Coach L) just like Jim, his...

Granted, Coach L knows good stuff and has achieved greatness in basketball. And deserves credit for this year's (limited) success (thus far) because even a bad cook can spoil a meal despite top ingredients and recipe. And basically he sure knows how to cook (as well as dance.) He has recently...

Interesting article... but I really wonder if its applicable to UM< since it mentions "power programs"... are we really considered one?

Coach K is at least a step above Coach L, right? A beats B, etc. I emailed him we might consider changing to "Kanes" if he signs on... even as "AD".

I took the Liberty to send this post to Coach L's office. It's time the Miami "L"affense did some changin...

    Realistic coaching candidates

Following up on Incane's salient points, all Coach L has to do if he "wants to coach" is keep on keepin on. No AD or BOT is likely to say NO and force it prematurely... of course if he's under .500 again next year that could very well sway a few. But as of right now, don't hold your breath...

THIS! It's pretty clear Coach L ain't gonna perform any George Mason magic here, and get an extension for it. Among all the other reasons that seem to suggest change is desirable, his purported Legendary Mentorship isn't a drawing card since the recruits know he is quite likely to leave Miami...

    Realistic coaching candidates

There's been gazillions of posts and comments about this; hard to sum up. While a couple slurpers persist, most are fully fed up and want a change. His buyout, reputation, and a jellyfish AD and BOT likely stand in the way, so a year or 2 more is likely. No talk of exit or ANY other strategy...

Wow, you guys are good, thanks... there's pretty much zero news where you would expect... Penn State sites, Adam's Twitter, other places, but yeah: hmmn:

    Realistic coaching candidates

Coaching (and recruiting) during these COVID times certainly paints a different perspective... and my first thought was evaluating a couple years back and more would make most sense... ...but this COVID crisis (and similar ones that might follow from new strains, or ???) may very well continue...

I would like to see Coach L replaced by some method, but I see no point in the unclassy move of firing him a couple weeks before season's end, like Boston College just did. Coach L is quite an accomplished fellow (despite limited accomplishments here of late) and deserves some "consideration"...

Quite honestly, Coach L's saving grace here may be Miami not allowing fans in (eg; FSU has allowed limited numbers last few weeks.) I'm quite sure after this Matt Cross debacle, next home game there would be boo's heard... now you got your hotseat.

Yes, probably the Miami connection did it for me. I see your point.

LT with Konkol were (likely) headed to the NCAA last year when COVID-19 struck, and the conference championship and all else got cancelled. FWIW. But you make a valid point.

    Realistic coaching candidates

(Former Miami Asst Coach) Eric Konkol at 44 has shone fairly brightly at Louisiana Tech ever since leaving here: This year so far 12-5 / 5-3. I know there are a lot of other parameters to consider besides W-L records in a lower conference... but having heard and read many good things, I would...

You left off Age of Anthony Grant; in case anyone wondering: it's 54. (I'm not sure all also realize that) he also is a Miami native... born and high school. Possibly worth a few bonus points in our "fans choice" thread.
