    a. L-I-A-B-I-L-I-T-Y b. protecting amateurism c. im all in on the CFB players union, but that would essentially start the end of the current system of CFB. if the virus doesnt cancel the season, any thought of unionizing players will certainly cancel it. i surely hope they get the union though!

heitner on twitter has talked about the waiver issues -- it isnt simple. the liability excuse isnt stupid. its a very real thing that could destroy a university if it goes south for even one player

their lawyers are basically saying this -- if you have one kid go down and get severely harmed due to football (virus related not assumed risk of the game), youre opening yourself up to a HUGE suit vs the losses you face from no football. its a risk benefit analysis theyre playing
  17. hoops156

pretty much. has nothing to do with the virus itself or the players. its about the money and whether its worth a 10 game season for a barrage of potential lawsuits

    a. you know hes a hoaxer b. i do think some sports will go away (but lets be real, it isnt the ones that any of us care bout on this board) c. some smaller schools will lose their programs (those wont be any of the major p5s, but the fcs schools which already lost their season)
  19. hoops156

well the surging numbers in the south and west didnt help make things easier but in the end its about liability. we all know it. universities aren't putting their asses on the line for a season however short of football.
