IMO it’ll come down to whether the neighbor had a weapon or not. Gonna be pretty **** hard to successfully claim SD if you raised the level of violence (I.e. using a knife/deadly weapon).

Feel for the family. Gonna come off as an *** here, but don’t feel for the guy at all. Dude always presented him self as “morally high” despite his past and now present. Not to mention his attacks on others if you had opposing view points from him.
