I think it’s way too early to be critical of Mario and staff’s recruiting. Since hired he’s signed or has verbals from a number players who wouldn‘t have given Miami a second thought. This upcoming class will be the best class in over a decade or more. That stated, its not possible to build up...

Yes, and let’s not factor in the bag game and NIL.

Isn't Riley Williams a TE? Or am I thinking of someone else? Miami hasn't had issues recruiting TEs. The Canes are still placing tight ends in the league. David Njoku, Brevin Jordan... Would not surprise me if Mallory made the league and has a nice career. He's been inconsistent and dogged...

If the 5*/4*+ HS elites aren’t signing with Miami the staff needs to be spot on with evaluations and coaching up the WR room. This past April a receiver from SOUTH DAKOTA STATE was a first round pick. The players are out there.

I don‘t disagree, but if I’m an elite WR with offers from Bama, Ohio State, USC (now), or a few others I’m maybe not looking at Miami. WRs from all three schools I mentioned went in the first round the past few drafts and were scoring touchdowns this past Sunday and Monday.

He must have lucked into Andrew Luck at Stanford.

Of course. The elite went to Bama (where Gattis was for a spell), Ohio State, Clemson. Michigan recruiting you also have to look at Harbaugh. His biggest failing, until perhaps this season, is not having an elite QB.

100%….and let’s not forget the bag game at Bama and others. I still wouldn’t label a kid who left SoFla for greener pastures a sellout. Most of us would do the same.

Leonard Taylor and James Williams were the most recent. Let‘s hope there are more….

I know its been discussed in other threads, BUT

Sure, but do the elite kids think that way? Many may want to jump on a bandwagon, like Bama or OSU. Others maybe not. Maybe a kid sees a Day 1 opportunity at Miami. NIL money likely figures in too. Taking off the orange and green glasses, I see Miami as such an opportunity. ****ey arrives and...

Don’t know. How many WRs has Michigan sent to the NFL in the past 4-5 seasons? Compared to Bama, USC, and Ohio State…

Hard to convince elite 5* receivers to pick Miami when they see offenses at Bama, Ohio State, USC (now), and other teams with explosive offenses. It may take a local kid whose dream school is Miami, like Duke Johnson. Or, a kid whose waits and slots fill up at the usual suspects.
